Packaging, Instructable, Vac forming and more...
The first kit has been delivered, put together using the updated Instructable, and it printed its first part. The packaging did a pretty good job, although it needs some slight improvements. The new Instructable also needs some alterations and additions. Over the next few days we will build two more machines for the local guys to pick up. During this process we will take more pictures and use these to further update the Instructabe. For now, feel free to check it out: http://www.instructables.com/id/DeltaTrix-3D-Printer/
We have made progress with our own vacuum forming setup, for producing the door panels. At the moment we are able to heat up a sheet to the required temperature, but when placing it on the pattern it cools down a little bit too fast. The solution is to pre-warm the pattern, especially with the low temperatures in the UK right now. We are now installing a heater to take care of this, which should be the last piece of the puzzle.
With the way we are going now, we are looking good to start shipping the kit rewards in February. We will be aiming to send at least 5 kits per week. With the kits going out shortly, we are also getting closer to re-launching the DeltaTrix 3D Printer on Kickstarter with a new campaign. If anyone would like to be informed before going live, provide us with your email address and we will let you know beforehand.
