This short film is called 'Behind the Glass' and will be around twenty hair-raising minutes of your life you won't forget! I want to produce a really high quality, and very scary original horror film that will have it's audience on the edge of their seats! it will be one that I hope audiences will love to watch over again and share with their friends. See the trailer to learn more...
I have worked hard to find a cast and crew that will make this story work, and will be able to produce something truly special in the genre. When you watch this film, you will feel apart of the story. This is something you don't always get from every film you might watch, even from the horror genre, so I understand that I'm aiming to achieve something special. Now that I have found such a great cast and crew, I have a real chance in making that happen.
The video below allows you to envision the style of the film, from my cinematography showreel.
The lead Annie, will be played by Peri Linklater-Johnson. Peri studied fine art and theater before moving to London to train as an actress. Since leaving drama school she has been in a several various Shakespeare productions and short films.
Playing the villainous shape in the film will be Julian Lamoral Roberts. Julian was nominated in the category Best Actor in a Leading Role by the Maverick Movie Awards USA 2012 for his performance in the role of Oscar Tarporley in the Award Winning CHINESE BURNS, a feature film which Julian also wrote and produced.
Silvana Maimone is an actor, singer and deviser/live artist, with many years' experience working in both live and recorded performance. She has played central characters in a number of Independent Features and Shorts, including "Clocks" by Joe Payne and by Nick Luddington , "Red In The Water" for Paco Poch Cinema, and "Red Kingdom Rising" which has secured a release through Amazon. Silvana will play the mysterious woman who appears at the start of the film.
Acting in the film for the young male role, and assisting behind the scenes, is actor & free-runner Elliot Michael George. Elliot has an impressive diversity and interest in numerous subjects and is also helping with sound and shooting a behind the scenes too if there's a spare moment for him.
The project will feature special make-up effects overseen by Simon Tytherleigh. Simon has twenty years experience of make-up for film and television, and was responsible for developing some of the BAFTA award-winning effects on the BBC series 'Casualty'.
The music you hear in the trailer is by Jonathan Fletcher, a London Biased composer with a Masters degree in composing for Film & Television, as well as numerous credits in both areas. The music for the film's trailer is one of the key tracks used for the film. It's very fortunate that this film will have such a professional composer, this is highly important for this genre, which is why I started to look for a composer, even before the film goes into production.
Surrounding myself with the right people that will come together well is part of the challenge, and I am certainly happy that I have found them. The location has been established, the script is looking great and now I need to reach an target audience who will help the project come to life.
The budget for the film is for a predicted four day shoot, which will be required to complete filming. This also factors the cost of the Kickstarter prizes which are given to you when you donate. I have based the prize on making one hundred and twelve DVD's, which will be sent by Royal Mail in the UK!
This means in one scenario, I reach one hundred and twelve people who will give a donation for a DVD prize. I will be able to make the film, and afford to produced and send the DVD to them. There will also be other prizes too so please take a look.
Further Donated Funds
Any money that is donated past the goal will be used to to provide more comfortable accommodation for the cast, after that better props and make-up fees and then more festivals and online marketing. If there is any further money available, I will be able to work closer with the composer during the creation of the soundtrack. Anything further money will be divided between the artists for their time and hard work on the project.
As with all Kickstarter projects the money you donate is only sent once the total pledge has been reached, if enough people make a donation. If it falls short of the goal there is no donation taken, and no film is made. I really hope that we will make it!
Thank you for reading the "Behind the Glass" Kickstarter campaign!
Risks and challenges
There are risks to any production, so what I have done is to create the best and most effective schedule I can to keep the filming days down to as few as possible. This way, any set backs are reduced significantly.
I have really made every effort to surround myself with the best cast and crew so there should be no problem with completion, as everyone is very professional about what they do.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
