Our new mobile app will be just that – your pocket rocket of nourishment and connection – supporting, motivating and inspiring you to not only survive, but thrive in your motherhood journey.
Designed by mums for mums
The Nourish App is the brainchild of Sara Campin, an Oxford University graduate, strategy consultant and a personal development coach. After struggling with her emotional wellbeing after the birth of both her kids and in juggling the pressures of a stressful job and modern mothering, Sara spotted a huge gap in the market for a simple, accessible, ‘go-to’ resource to support mothers in their emotional wellbeing.
Sara has brought together a team of leading well-being experts, who all have first-hand experience of how turbulent the motherhood ride can be, plus the knowledge tools and expertise to make a significant difference to other mothers and their families.
We’re revolutionising motherhood
We're on a mission to make good mental health and positive wellbeing easy and accessible to ALL mothers.
We believe maternal mental health matters
Perinatal maternal mental health is an under diagnosed and under-treated public health issue. Many woman suffer on alone, without support, often because of the stigma associated with mental health, and the fear of being labelled a ‘failure’ or a ‘bad mother’.
Despite the figures there is still limited emphasis on preparing woman for the birth of a mother – the most significant physical and psychological transition a woman will ever experience. Plus, only limited support or ‘go-to’ resources exist to help mothers in their emotional wellbeing throughout their journey.
We’re on a mission to create a brighter future for mothers and their families.
Imagine a world where no mother is ever alone on her motherhood journey.
Instead every mother has a personal support team in her pocket, helping her love and nourish herself, and ride those turbulent waves of motherhood.
Where all mothers have access to their best selves. Not only for themselves, but also for their families, their communities, their workplaces and for our society as a whole.
We believe self-care is healthcare.
We believe self-care isn’t selfish. We believe it's the best thing a mother can do for herself and for her kids. We believe self-care is healthcare for our physical, emotional, energetic and mental health.
In prioritising self-care and mental wellbeing we can protect the mind and body from the impact of life’s stresses and traumatic events, and enable the adoption of healthy lifestyles.
Mental wellbeing is associated with better interpersonal relationships and socially healthier societies.
It helps people achieve their potential, realise their ambitions, cope with adversity, work productively and contribute effectively to their communities and to society.
We believe that with access to the right tools & support, all mothers can find greater joy in their path. We want to make this a reality for all mothers.
Because every mother deserves the right to enjoy motherhood!
The Nourish app will be…..
Your personal champion
Our app will send you inspiring, uplifting and supportive messages to encourage you to be kind to yourself and nourish your mind.
Your support team
Our design and content will have an interactive feel and interactive features, to give you a personal and human touch. All our content will be created by a team of passionate mums, who also happen to include some of the leading UK experts in maternal wellbeing.
All our content will be linked to its contributor, so that you get the sense of the real people behind it and so that you can find more of the things that you love, should you wish.
Your daily dose of nourishment
Our design and user experience will be both calming and uplifting – a dose of nourishment in itself. We want you to come away feeling nurtured, nourished, motivated or uplifted, depending on your needs and preferences in that moment.
Uniquely designed to support the needs of mothers
Our content will be tailored to mothers and the specific emotions and challenges they face at different stages in the motherhood journey.
Version 1, our Minimal Viable Product (MVP), will include some initial content that will benefit all mums at every stage, some specific content tailored for new mums and some specific content for working mums.
As we grow, our hope is to create and share content to support the typical emotions and challenges across ALL stages of the motherhood journey and maybe one day for dads too.
A broad range of tools depending on your needs and preferences in that moment
Everyone’s self-care needs, interests, preferences and goals are different. So what one person finds nourishing differs from another and even our own needs will change over time.
Our app will include a range of evidence-based tools and strategies for you to explore, depending on your preferences and needs in that moment. We are not just a mama meditation app. You will be able to access practical, bite-sized content across a broad range of disciplines from yoga, to mindfulness, to breathing, to CBT techniques and nutrition, grouped under Mind, Body and Breath.
Content will also be available in a range of different formats from text, to audio, to video.
Tips and tools to not only survive, but thrive
The most effective kind of self-care is a proactive approach. By regularly topping up your energy bank balance you will be more resilient in the face of life’s inevitable challenges.
The Nourish app will also contain a library of inspiration on self-care for use in any moment, based on Suzy Reading’s Vitality Framework.
An app to support, motivate and inspire EVERY mother
Our app will be for ALL mums. For new mums, for pregnant mums, for working mums, for stay at home mums, for mentally well mums, for mentally ill mums, for single mums, for married mums. For every single mother.
We’re all about social impact
We’re a group of mums with the life experience and the expertise to make a real difference to mother and their families. This is our shared passion. This is what matters to us – spreading love, kindness and the tools and benefits of self-care.
Our focus is social impact and not financial return. In an ideal world we would make our app free so that we can help everyone. However, we will need to charge a small subscription fee to make the Nourish App sustainable and ensure that we are able to deliver enhanced content and functionality overtime. But, we really want to keep the costs to the user as low as possible, and definitely less than the price of a single coffee a month (!), so that we can make it accessible to as many people as possible.
We also want to avoid advertising as we believe it creates additional unwanted stimuli that is detrimental to our mental wellbeing and doesn’t fit with our brand ethos.
We’re taking a holistic approach to maternal mental health
We are all about prioritising mental wellbeing to protect our mental health. But we also know that every one of us has the capacity to suffer from a mental health problem. We’re therefore taking a holistic approach and the majority of any profits we make will be donated to mental health charities.
We need your help!
Because our focus is social impact and because we’re a social enterprise, we’re less attractive to typical commercial investors, and even impact investors, who all want to know where their big bucks are going to come from.
Almost everyone involved in the project so far has donated their time, expertise and passion for free. However, to build the technology and create high quality content, we need a bit of hard cash.
We’ve got an important mission, bags of passion, a fantastic team and a great design. But we need your money to help build the technology and launch our Minimal Viable Product so that we can start spreading the love and helping mums.
We will use the money we raise on Kickstarter to finalise the detailed tech design and build our Minimal Viable Product (MVP) in iOS. The subsequent development of the app on the Android platform and the recording and editing of content will be self-funded. We hope to use this MVP to not only start helping mothers immediately but also to attract further financing to expand our reach through marketing, PR & strategic partnerships.
Check out our fabulous rewards!
We’ve created an info-graphic so you can see what’s on offer in return for your support. We realise there's lots to choose from so sorry about that. Hopefully though something for everyone!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Risks and challenges
Product evolution: we’re unique – one of a kind that has not been done before. We’re really excited about bringing it to market, but until we’ve launched our first version (our MVP) we won't be able to validate exactly what resonates with users and what doesn’t. To help mitigate this risk we will be running an alpha trial process through the MVP development phase and will also run beta testing with an expanded group. We will use the feedback received to course correct as and when necessary.
Social impact focus: as we’ve said, our focus is impact and not financial return which does make us less attractive to investors. But we believe by charging a small fee for the app, we can make it not only affordable for all mothers, but also support a sustainable business model.
Only the start: the money we’re raising will help us build our Minimal Viable Product. We’ll need more cash to build all the enhanced features we’d love to build, including a community dimension to the app. We’ll also need more cash to create and publish even more relevant content across all stages of the motherhood journey. Finally, we’ll need more cash to expand our reach and get our app in front of more mums. However, our MVP will be a central pillar for future funding conversations and a successful crowd funding campaign will help us demonstrate the purpose and need.
Multi-platform: because we want to make our app accessible to each and every mother. We need to develop it on both iOS and Android platforms. This makes it more complex and costly to build and manage both the initial product and future enhancements. We considered using a cross platform development framework, but our view is that the higher quality of user experience achievable using native development justifies the increased cost of this approach.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
