This is Cindi, the artist behind Mer-Doggies! I was inspired to make this enamel pin series after the recent success of my friend's Kickstarter. Thank you for stopping by!
My main goal is to produce these pins and get them shipped out to people. If people really like my designs, it inspires me and encourages me to keep creating! I currently have 3 pin designs: Tricolor Pembroke, Red/White Pembroke, and German Shepherd. They're hard enamel, with little bits of glitter in each to really make it pop. Each comes on an illustrated 3"x3" backing card.
As for the backer amounts, you'll be allowed to choose duplicates! That means that you can buy a bundle and split the cost among your friends, or just have multiple pins if you plan on hanging them on multiple items. (If you would like more than 3 pins, please add $10 for each additional pin. Message me with the number of extra pins you would like to receive too; it would help cut down my labor a lot!)
And here's a picture of the pup who inspired them all:
Current stretch goal ($1000):
This shiba inu inspired design will feature a hard enamel, silver plated surface, and of course, glitter! It will also be larger than the other pins, at a whopping 2 inches.
An OG design of the series might also be making a comeback! Other merch is also being considered!
Here's a snapshot of the current pin production timeline:
- Late September-Early October: Funds Collected
- October-November: Pins in production
- December: Pins packaged; commissions fulfilled
- January (at the absolute latest): All pledges fulfilled
Risks and challenges
The artwork is subject to change to be made more pin-friendly, although I don't foresee any major changes/overhauls. If there are any major delays in the production process, everyone will be notified.
Though unlikely, there is a possibility that more of a certain pin design is requested than I originally anticipated. Since order quantities come in batches, I would be forced to order the next batch size up. This could incur extra costs, though I've planned in case this happens, and we should have sufficient funds to compensate for this overflow should it occur.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
