About this project
Over the past 3.5 years, we have shot video footage of 22 different groups of people, each improvising characters based on the imagery and archetypes of the Fool's Journey through the Major Arcana of the Tarot. This story is a metaphor for the journey through life, and each of these cards represents a different stage of that journey. The actors in this project were given only brief direction, so that the movie would embody the collective experiences of its participants.
We are seeking financial assistance to complete the editing and post-production of this project. The funding we are seeking for this project would help the two "directors", Zeljko McMullen and Severiano Martinez to spend one month working together to carve out this collective unconscious narrative and present this work to the public in a much more professionally polished form than it presently stands.

No! In fact, the main reason we are trying to raise funds is to take extra time to turn this into a "narrative" type movie that is both entertaining and philosophically informative. Most movies serve to help the viewer "lose" themselves in the story. We are trying to create a piece of art that helps the viewer to "find" different truths about their own life as they relate to these archetypal realites.
One of the overarching concepts of this project was to create a narrative that didn't come from the mind of a single author. Most movies are written by one or two people, and then a large crew puts together this focused idea. We tried to go the opposite direction. The TAROT primarily deals with the collective unconscious (think of C.G. Jung). By having such a large group of people react to these universal symbols, our hope is to create a dream-like story that is drawn from this collective well of all of its participants.
