The End of 35MM film could mean the end of a historic central IL drive in. You can save this slice of Americana!
This project's funding goal was not reached on September 28, 2012.

Even though this particular campaign was unsuccessful we were able to save Harvest Moon Drive-In. Through a variety of other means. (yeah!) Can't wait for 2014 season to open!!!
I'm happy to back this project. Though my wife and I live in St. Louis now, we both have pleasant memories of the Harvest Moon. Since it looks like you're unlikely to make your goal, however, can I suggest that perhaps a crowdfunding site like Indiegogo or Chipin would be more appropriate for a second attempt? That way, even if you don't meet your goal, you can still benefit from the funds that have been pledged. I love Kickstarter, but it's probably not the right platform for this large amount of funding towards a drive-in theater that's not well-known outside of central Illinois. Good luck, and keep all 700+ of us would-be backers in the loop if you restart the funding drive!
Every summer I used to get to go to the Drive-In with my family. I would always buy a Dill Pickle at intermission. My brother and I played frisbee in front of the screen before the movie started. I came back every summer at least once, and made sure to make time to come back even when I went out of state to college. I'll donate all I can and encourage everyone I know to donate something to save this piece of awesomeness.
I'm from Little ol' Mount Morris, IL. I donated to this because we are going through the same problem at the theater closer to me in Dixon, IL (Midway Drive in) so I know how it sucks. It would be a tragedy to loose these Drive in theaters.
Anyone who is backing this in Chambana, get the word out! No one knows around here! We gotta get this thing funded or we will lose something awesome!!
