Three wonderful girls in my life inspired FUN Girl. My stepdaughters Emma (14), Maylin (11) and my toddler Kristianna (21 months). They love to look stylish and live in comfort, but they don’t love all the flirty and provocative quotes that are on the pj's, hoodies and pants out there. They want to be different; they want to inspire. My passion for fashion and love for comfort drove me to create this new clothing line for them. And what a profound sense of fulfillment from executing a project that myself and my family initiated.
IT IS TIME FOR A CHANGE
I believe it is time to reinvent the classic sleepwear, and hoodies and pants available to today's modern girls. It is time to stop making them believe they are princesses, and divas, and flirts. It is time to start promoting kindness, gratitude, ambition, dreams, inspiration and unity.
The FUN GIRL line is geared toward girls ages newborn to 20+, that are fashion savvy, self-confident, and energetic. The FUN Girl is passionate, spiritual, grateful and inspirational. She is FUN to be around and she expresses what comes from within her, through inspirational quotes on her colorful lounge and sleepwear. Constructed with premium fabrics for absolute durability, they are build to provide style and comfort. I have spent months sketching exclusive designs of sleepwear, hoodies, pants, yoga pants, tees and tanks, and even baseball hats! My motifs are placed in unique places including on the inside of a hood or a pant leg. I have teamed up with some of the fashion industry's most well respected consultants to guide me through the entire process from sketch to production. Together we have sourced outstanding textiles and a reputable contractor here in the USA, where the garments will be manufactured .
We have invested over $20,000 in building our brand. This includes:
- website domain www.fungirl3.com
- hiring consultants
- making our flats and tech packs for 25 outfits, 12 tanks, 12 tee shirts, and 5 yoga pants
- creating patterns for our samples
- cut and sewn 3 prototypes (pictured on Kristianna, Maylin and Emma)
- made our first professional photo shoot of the girls modeling the outfits
- sourced our fabrics, trims, buttons, elastic, drawstrings, zipper pulls and drawstring seals
- sourced our manufacturer here in the USA
- sourced out labels, and hang tags
- sourced our packaging for shipping from our on line store. This includes boxes, tissue, stickers, and garment bags.
TEES AND TANKS
We are seeking your help to fund our inventory purchase of our fully developed line of hoodies, bottoms, pj’s, tees, tanks, and yoga pants. All we have left to do in order to make this dream a reality is purchase our fabrics and send for production. We need to raise $40,000 as our suppliers and manufacturers have minimum orders in place and we need to pre-sell enough outfits to fulfill these mimimums to bring our collection to production. In addition to production, we have to go through an extensive and expensive testing process of the garments, to ensure we meet all the CPSC (Consumer Product Safe Commission) guidelines for child safety. We dream of growing our beautiful sleepwear and loungewear collection, and we want to make it available though our e-commerce store at www.fungirl3.com. We will send out several updates throughout the entire process making sure our backers are up-to-date on any important information. Please remember to check your junk mail and inbox regularly after your pledge, as we will be sending out an email to determine the SIZE and COLOR of your particular order. FGC is able to provide our backers with any type of company information such as name and contacts of our manufacturers, fabric suppliers, consulting firms, and packaging distributors. ONCE THE CAMPAIGN CLOSES
Once our campaign closes, we will order our fabric and begin production. Production time takes roughly 30 days once fabric has arrived at the manufacturer, depending on quantity of the order. We will then proceed with testing for flammability and choking hazards. Our team will then ship the rewards to our AMAZING backers.
BULLYING IS NOT FUN
Bullying, including cyber bullying, has created a cruelty crisis in the world. Bullying is victimization and abuse. FUN Girl wants to make it possible to improve the lives of bullied children and youth and even save lives. I have hand drawn a "unity" motif for the "unity" outfits, in orange, the color of bully prevention. With this outfit I am hoping FUN Girl will provide support for preventing bullying web based information, and ideas and actions that can be shared in communities across the nation, through pacer.org. Resources include engaging websites designed just for students, literature for parents to help their children through bullying situations, classrooms toolkits for educators, and much more. Every child has the right to develop, learn and thrive in an environment without fear, without violence and without limitations.
FUTURE COMPANY GOALS
Once we have established our FUN Girl customer base, we move to FUN Girl Cosmetics. We plan on creating a line of lotions, shower gels, and body sprays for our young FUN girls, with soft scents and essential oils. And then we move to FUN Boy! I will be designing unique and inspirational designs for boys promoting, sports, ambition, and kindness.

Risks and challenges
Getting the word out and convincing the kickstarter community to participate, will be our biggest challenge. With so many wonderful projects to choose from, we hope ours will stand out. To reach as many people as possible, we are asking friends, families, and various blogs to help spread the word. Once the funding is in place, our next challenge will be producing on a large scale.
