December Holiday Update
First of all, I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season. I've been pretty silent myself over the past few months, hammering away at a number of things in regards to the project. As always, I want to keep everyone in the loop with regards to the upcoming release.
As pointed out in our last couple of updates, we found a printer that we feel is going to provide us with the best quality, which is exactly what we've wanted for these books since the very beginning. It does delay our physical prints until Spring, but the wait is worth delivering durable, high-quality books that last.
Heading to the Finish Line
We've really been pushing to have the Core Manual completed and ready to go by December 31st. However, I have no intention of delivering anything overly rushed or hastily cobbled together. Every member on our team knows the value of doing things the right way the first time.
The reality is that we are not quite there with production. We are still tweaking some parts within the book itself, which is going through proper review and editing. To make sure the final release is top notch, we have the pleasure of working with Will Hindmarch as our editor.
There are also some key pieces of art and writing work we are waiting on that we can't complete the book without. This runs directly into the holiday season, which puts additional cramp on available time. We do, however want to thank everyone for your patience and understanding. And so, I decided on a way to do just that.
Core Books and Primer Previews
Over the next few weeks, as we're finalizing sections of the Core Manual, we'll be releasing preview sections to Kickstarter and BackerKit backers. This way, we can at least provide access to the new races, classes, and character options for players and GMs to add into their campaigns, as well as background information on the galaxy setting. We'll send email notices to everyone regarding the release of a section.
Chris Negelein, the newest member of our EG design team, is putting together a brand new adventure which was to be released at the same time as the Core Manual. We'll instead be sending that out early along with the Core Manual previews and more of Chris’ awesome writing work. In addition, we plan on sending out previews for the other two books, which include stat blocks for new threats and different options for gear and equipment.
We're excited to get as much of this to you as possible, but we also want to deliver the very best that we can. Thank you all so much for your patience, support, and excitement over the project.
The Alligator Alley Entertainment team wishes you all a very Happy Holiday and all the best to you and your families.
