THANK YOU!
Your support easily pushed us past our first stretch goal. We also had nearly 800 responses to our survey as to which colour we should add to our Flexo stable. The winner is light bluish grey!
Any order with a January delivery date has the choice of Flexo orange or the light bluish grey colour bricks. (you will be able to choose this in the survey at the end)
When we reach NZD$270,000 (US$195,500) we will upgrade every order to include a Flexo box to house your Flexo!
The boxes have clip lids so they won't pop open if the box falls, and come with a lift out tray for you to keep and organise your tendons in!
We're into the last week. Help spread the word!
Flexo is a simple system consisting of construction bricks and flexible tendons.
It is great fun by itself, but is even more amazing when combined with your own brick collection. Together they create endless opportunities and amazing functionality. Flexo is 100% compatible with traditional and current brick brands and will be the ultimate expansion pack to your brick collection.
Whatever you want!
The combinations of Flexo tendons, Flexo bricks, your brick collection and your imagination can create wonderful things. Vehicle suspension, catapults, swing bridges, reinforcement and strengthening plus so, so much more.
Its really simple. The ends of the Flexo tendon fit snuggly into the openings in the Flexo brick.
We love to use our finger to push the Flexo tendon in, but you can use pretty much anything; a ballpoint pen, another brick, a screwdriver, we have even included a purpose built stainless steel Flexo tool as an added option, just whatever suits you really.
The snug fit holds the Flexo tendons in place nicely, but when you really want to get rough and use the tendons to their max we recommend you lock the tendon in by placing any other brick (Flexo or not) on top of the Flexo brick. With the Flexo tendon now locked in place you can pull, tug, twist and yank to your hearts content.
Some things we have built with Flexo and our regular brick collection...
Flexo isn't just an awesome add-on product, we want it to become a community of creatives and their ideas!
A place where people can share their amazing builds, hacks, techniques and improvements so we can all get the most out of Flexo. As a community we can grow and learn as we explore the endless possibilities together.
Along with many more exciting Flexo products, we want to develop an online library of how-to building instructions, user's own building instructions and creations as well as a forum for discussion and ideas.
Flexo will stay engaged with the Flexo community through all forms of social media such as their Facebook page, Youtube channel, Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter. This is one of our main focuses for Flexo going forward.
To help us bring an idea to a reality, one which will bring a new world of possibilities to current construction bricks
Mark Stolten is the genius behind Flexo. Mark has always been an inventor, and was ‘modifying’ his parents possessions from a young age. He’s never stopped since, constantly creating and finding improved ways for things to work.
James Stolten decided to give up his corporate career and come on board with his father’s plans. He brings a huge amount of energy, know how, interest in modern technology and social media skills to the team. James also shares his family’s passion for bringing fun to people’s lives as well as bringing joy to those less fortunate.

Risques et défis
As with any new idea the prototyping stage can be full of challenges, with costly redesigns. We have already worked thorough this milestone having completed our final tests as well as initial audience testing.
Manufacturing a new product to a set price point requires a lot of seeking out and negotiating with suitable suppliers. Ensuring that manufacturing meets quality standards and specifications is one of the biggest risks and challenges when developing a physical product. To minimize this we have decided to manufacture Flexo's key parts in New Zealand, allowing us to work closely with the manufacturer and keep a close eye on quality. We have already selected a pool of NZ suppliers who we have met with and price pointed. We will confirm our suppliers once the Kickstarter reaches its goal.
Keeping a project running smoothly and on time is always a challenge. We have committed a full time project manager to ensure milestones are met.
Order fulfillment is a challenge to any starting company. We have decided to use Backerkit for our KS campaign to ensure clear communication with our backers and timely delivery. While New Zealand is often referred to as 'down under' we will using reputable global freighting companies to make sure your Flexo gets to you.
As Flexo is an add-on for current toy construction bricks, our quality assurance regime will be such that we can ensure standards are equal to those of major brands. We will conduct strict testing especially in the area of brick clutch.
A unique challenge we may face after our project is successfully funded is the packaging of the product. Our largest pledge has up to 8,405 parts. Depending on our final amount raised we have developed a number of packaging strategies to ensure efficiency and accuracy are achieved.
