In February of this year, I started making custom laser cut tokens for boardgamers. It has gone very well, but now I'd like to kick it up a notch and do some new things!
The big items for this kickstarter are going to be custom engraved tokens and engraved dice. All my other game enhancements are available as well, and I am always open to custom work.
Here is an example of custom 3/4" tokens I made for someone. They will be shipped un-inked, but it was really easy to get the color in.
By backing this project you are getting some nice items to accessorize your games, and make even more interesting items possible!
For those interested, I have a blog detailing my adventure into laser cutting board game parts. It is here: teleology.com
I will use the funds increase my laser's capabilities and purchase lots of raw materials, including blank dice to etch!
There are two important things to note about the rewards. The first is the color of the tokens. Any of the tokens made can be in any color of 1/8" acrylic I can get. Right now that list is: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, light blue, turquoise, violet, white, opaque white, ivory, black, brown, pink, fluorescent red, fluorescent orange, fluorescent green, fluorescent blue, transparent orange, transparent blue, transparent dark bronze, transparent light bronze, transparent light blue, transparent green, transparent yellow, transparent light gray, transparent dark gray, and transparent red. That's a lot of different colors. If you can't find one you like there, I can ask, but it isn't likely I can get it in.
For dice, the colors I can order are green, red, white, ivory, black, blue, and yellow. All opaque.
The second important thing is the delivery date. If this project takes off and I get a lot of people getting rewards, I will create them in the order that they were pledged. I will start shipping when I promised, and I make things very fast, but if we get very successful, it will take a bit longer to get everything out.
In use here:
These trays securely hold the cubes in place, so they don't get knocked around during play.
Arkham Horror stuff
I have two kinds of trays for Arkham Horror. The first just helps keep track of the current skills
It comes with four of the tracking markers (you only need three, one is an extra).
You can see it in use here
It is the lower one.
There is also a "combo" tray that will hold the skill markers and D8s or D10s that track current and maximum sanity/stamina
Tokens for this game are available in either the "germ" or "geometric" styles. The geometric ones are slightly larger. They are shipped un-inked, but I will give you several easy methods of getting that done.
I like this game a lot, and I wanted to replace the cardboard with some nice tokens. Antiquity tokens represent olives, wood, gold, pearls, wine, sheep, dye, stone, wheat, and fish. The tokens come un-inked, but can be used as-is, or easily filled in with crayons.
Also available is custom work, which can be anything we can come up with together!
I had to think long and hard about what stretch goals I could come up with. It doesn't get cheaper for me to make my things as the numbers go up, so I had to be really careful.
If we make this level, everyone who backs for $10 or more will get a 5% off coupon, good for their next order (not the kickstart one).
At this level, everyone who backs for $5 or more will get a free 1" engraved token, like the one at the 5$ level (they will get two, for example).
At this level I will upgrade my laser system. The effect this has on you will be quicker turnaround, both on the Kickstarter order, and future ones, and I believe the cuts will be cleaner, and the maximum size of the things I produce can be larger.
Who knows what else I can figure out to offer if we go high enough!
Thanks for looking!
