About this project
THE DISCO EXORCIST is a blood-soaked tale of revenge, sex, black magic, disco dancing, and mountains of cocaine. We've got an awesome script, a cast that's to die for, and a boatload of film making knowhow under our belts. But there's one thing different about this film from any that we've made before.
In this age of soulless state-of-the-art, 3-D, IMAX CGI-laden "filmmaking" we thought it would be exciting to bring the art of cinema back to its most basic.
Film. Real film, with grain and scratches, warts and all.
Plus, NOTHING looks as '70's as Super 8 film. 16mm is too smooth these days, and video still looks like video, no matter how many filters you put on it.
But one thing film -isn't- is cheap. Six minutes of film, one roll, comes to about $30 when you factor in buying it, having it developed and put through the telecine process to get it ready for editing. And that six minutes of film doesn't come anywhere -near- being six minutes in the final project.
And that's where Kickstarter comes in! We are looking to raise ten thousand dollars to complete the movie. We pride ourselves on not only making a great movie, but also -- and we think this is the most important part -- getting the film out there and seen by the general public. Every last one of the features our company has produced are out there now in stores for the world to see, except for the latest, which we're editing to premiere this Fall.
We are looking at all kinds of great rewards for those who contribute. From the basics like credits in the movie, tee-shirts, autographed copies of the screenplay, to exciting bonuses like costumes and props from the movie.
So if you're a fan of Disco, or the '70's, or exploitation movies, or horror, or films on film, man, have we got the movie for you. Well, we WILL have the movie for you, just give us a few bucks, and a few months.
