A chamber orchestra seeks to fund it's inaugural season.
Orchestra Enigmatic is a new ensemble based in Louisville, Kentucky that seeks to engage audiences with creative programs and collaborations with artists of varying artforms. While we aren't precisely a new-music orchestra, we will be programming a good deal of new works. Certainly we will play Bach, Haydn, and their peers. But, we will play them in the context of the avant garde, of Cage and Partch, and even of popular music.
The first season of Orchestra Enigmatic will stand as a microcosm of what the ensemble is to be. We will present two programs this year: one in fall, one derby week. The season's tentative program is as follows:
Friday November 16, 7:30 @ St Francis in the Fields, Harrods Creek, Ky
Haydn Symphony 97
Shostakovich String Quartet No. 8
Mahler/arr. Eberhard Kloke Songs of a Wayfarer
Chad Sloan, soloist
Terry Reily In C
Saturday April 27, 7:30 @ Downtown venue TBA
Schoenberg Chamber Symphony No. 1
Local Artist (TBA) Suite of songs written by and arranged for our ensemble by a local recording artist
Local artist, soloist
Project funds will go towards covering the costs of music, venues, production costs (programs, flyers, etc), and rewards, as well as compensation for Brandon Bass (our designer), our soloists, and our musicians that comprise the ensemble.
