About this project
There is a game of chess being played for dominion over the multiverse.
On the side of freedom are the Horsemen, an elite fighting force of intergalactic guardians. Their nemesis, Fate and Destiny, look to extinguish all freewill and remake everything in their colorless image. They have battled for the souls of sentient beings across space and time longer than recorded history. Fate and Destiny have multitudes of plans, each more devious than the next, but they are all connected to their ultimate scheme - complete domination of all existence!
Led by their senior Horseman War and narrated by his protégé Destruction, the limited series is a adventure that will take its heroes on quests to strange alien worlds or anywhere a battle must be fought.
The first issue opens with the fall of the godlike Horseman Thanatos and the emergence of his replacement Gemna, a man born of one of our earthly tragedies. To watch it unfold, click on our video.
Horsemen is a five issue limited series. We are seeking funds to pay our very talented artists to complete the first issue and pay for the print run. Any additional funds that we receive will go towards subsequent issues, potential digital comic hosting online, and costs to debut the comic at the New York Comic Con.
Instead of making an awkward video of why we need this funding or how passionate we are about this project (Extremely!!! We really can't convey how much and to see it on your screen would just seem sad. When we aren't writing, we are thinking about writing. It can't be summed up any better than that), we really want the work to speak for itself. You can see more of the artwork below or you can watch a high def link of the above video here: https://vimeo.com/42868184.
All donations are greatly appreciated and if you’d like to throw a couple dollars our way that’s killer. Joshua would like to offer you wonderful supporters a coupon code to get the coming-of-age novel The Excess Road for free (XV27P on Smashwords.com https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/39547). Also use free code AR77X to get his short story Oneiromancer https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/54452.
Both codes for the e-books expire August 5, 2012

UPDATE: A bit more about us:
Joshua L.A. Jones was born in winter to Hippies who became Yuppies in the springtime of his life. He grew up in a coastal CT hamlet where Preppies roamed unleashed and unfettered. In the beginning, his literary path was crooked but straightened out after college when he began to write novels about twisted characters. Besides novels, he writes screenplays, poetry and comic book/graphic novel scripts. Currently, he acts a content creator and creative consultant for Real Estate agents in a town about an hour away from NYC as he pursues his goal of writing fiction for a living. Interesting facts: he played bass professionally. His grandfather was a Federal Court judge and he is related by marriage to Brad Dourif on his grandmother’s side though he has never met him. He is single and loves dogs.
Mark C. Frankel is a published writer and jaded biographer of the human condition. In addition to his published prose, he has completed a middle grade novel and has collaborated on graphic novels, comic books and several screen/stage plays. Presently he is in development with another comic book work he wrote, the Ascendant. A sneak peek can be seen here: http://aegispub.blogspot.com/2012/05/demons-befoul-trevi-fountain-ascendant.html.
Mark is the married, proud father of a two little girls and owner of one happy-go-lucky beagle. Despite his best efforts, Mark eventually graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, possibly to the consternation of some of his professors. Mark resides in Connecticut and works for CBS.
UPDATE: Every donation of $25 or more will now receive a limited edition black t-shirt with the Horsemen logo on it (including the $100 level which I am unable to edit). Here's a sneak peek (and no, that is not either one of us in the picture):
