Ray Ray's rub was born out of a labor of love. More than a decade ago, Ray Ray and his family moved from the Boston area to Kansas City, which is known as a Mecca of barbecue. Upon his arrival, he was taken to the famous Arthur Bryant's Barbecue restaurant where he would have a food epiphany. His world would never be the same after biting into the smokey, slow cooked rack of ribs he ordered off the menu.
For Ray Ray, it was love at first bite. While he was enjoying his first real barbecue meal he vowed that he would learn everything he could about making great tasting slow-cooked food at home. He wanted to eventually earn the title, "pit-master".
Now, ten years later, Ray Ray has earned that title. He has cooked tens of thousands of pounds of meat and has catered events across the country both big and small.
Through all of that real-world experience, and by simply rolling up his sleeves and getting dirty, Ray Ray can cook with the best of the pit-masters of the world, and is certainly better than any of the celebrity "chefs" you see on television.
In all of his travels, Ray Ray continually has been asked what his secret is to making such great food. His answer is always simple, "There isn't any secret really, I just never stop learning from people who are better at it than I am. The one thing I guess I DO have, is this dry rub I've worked on for the past decade."
Upon hearing that statement, invariably people always ask where they can buy a bottle of Ray Ray's Rub, and up until now he's been embarrassed to say that they aren't able to. After hearing it over and over again, Ray Ray figured it was time to bottle his dry rub recipe, and offer it to the masses.
That's why we've decided to turn to Kickstarter to help make Ray Ray's Rub a reality, and to launch it via internet and local grocery store sales. We have some awesome rewards levels set up on the right hand side, and would sure appreciate your support.

Ray Ray sent his friend Erica some of his rub, and she made a brisket at home with it. Here are some pictures of the results.
