POETRY FERRARI - A VEHICULAR POETRY READING
In conjunction with the O, MIAMI poetry festival, POETRY FERRARI is a poetry reading that will take place for 4 hours on Miami-Dade's roadways on April 27th, culminating in a final Ferrari Picnic reading in a TBD parking lot/garage.
THE CAR: A Ferrari 360 Spider Convertible (V-8 Engine, 400 HP). Purrs like a mountain lion and roars like a Minotaur.
THE MEGAPHONE: S601 Ampli-vox MityMeg. A cone of thunder.
READING POEMS OUT OF A FERRARI???
The plan is to drive around Miami-Dade county, making impromptu stops to read poetry. Examples of places where I plan on reading are Lincoln Road in South Beach, the Wal-Mart parking lot on 163rd in North Miami Beach, bus stops along Biscayne Boulevard, Design and Architecture Senior High in Miami, Aventura Mall, The Miami Science Museum, etc. Most of the readings will be completely unplanned.
I plan on reading my own work AND the work of much better, phenomenal poets: Pablo Neruda, Elizabeth Bishop, David Berman, James Wright, and Walt Whitman to name a few.
Bookmarks will be handed out to listeners with one of my poems on one side and a map of the Ferrari route on the other.
