The next generation of Science for the People--a publication for radical science, engineering and technology workers and enthusiasts--is experiencing a revival! From digitizing the original archives for activist and academic use, to confronting right-wing attempts to legitimize racist and sexist ideas of biological determinism in our schools and workplaces, to defending the planet against climate change deniers and the posturing free-market liberals who enable them: a new generation of Science for the People is organizing and publishing to build a fighting movement of STEM workers and educators.
Our upcoming conference in Ann Arbor Michigan will establish our political principles, campaigns for 2018, a structure for the organization & forthcoming publication, and a strategy for rekindling the spirit of the radical scientists who came before us.
The funds we raise here will be used to produce a 5-10 minute documentary film about the rebirth of our publication, the proceedings of the conference in Ann Arbor, and project our mission and purpose to an audience of radicalizing scientists, engineers, tech-workers, and educators joining the resistance to the neglect, abuse and misuse of science.
The film will introduce the politics and structure of our organization and forthcoming publication to a national audience. It will facilitate the establishment and growth of Science for the People working groups, campaigns, and chapters and depict the breadth of political and strategic initiatives assessed and planned at the convention in Ann Arbor.

Risks and challenges
Completion and delivery of the documentary short film we are producing depends on the success of our upcoming conference. There are a ton of moving parts and there are more than a dozen committed SftP activists organizing to pull it off. We expect snags and challenges, disagreements and unforeseeable interruptions. But we have an inspiring team of committed activists from several chapters as well as the support and contributions of many veterans of the original Science for the People.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
