Help us make a Children's CD!
Hi there. How's it going? We are married couple, singer/songwriters Jon & Carrie. For about 10 years we have been making music together. During that time we have played lots of shows and recorded a few CDs. But in the past few years things started changing. Foremost among those changes, we had a baby: a wonderful, vibrant, creative boy. We settled down in a new town, and Jon got a job in the Children's Department of a library. Jon began doing lots of storytimes and performances for kids at the library, incorporating his humor and music. Out of that grew opportunities to do kids' birthday parties and concerts for children. More and more people (besides our moms) started saying, "You should make a kids' CD," until finally, one day we said, "They're right. It's time. Let's make a kids' CD."
So much of this CD has been inspired by our muse, our now 3 year old Zander. Having a quirky and lovable little 3 yr old running around the house wearing his hard hat and holding his ukulele, saying things like "daddy, sing me a song about a great white shark and a race car!" has prompted us to come up with songs we probably would have never thought up otherwise.
We consider our kids' songs to be "family music". We want kids to laugh and dance and sing along, and mom and dad to be able to bob their heads and chuckle, too (without wanting to pull out their hair or stick sharp objects in their eyes). So we've decided to keep this album nice and simple with just us - two voices, acoustic guitar, and piano. Our hope is that everyone from babies to grandparents will be able to enjoy it.
Thanks for taking the time to check out our KickStarter page. The actual recording in the studio is finished. But we still have so much to do (and to pay for) - editing, mixing, mastering, artwork, and CD replication. So this KickStarter fundraiser will help us complete our CD Project. The more we get, the better it can be! Kickstarter is an all or nothing fundraising campaign. We have one month. If, by the end of the month, we haven't met our fundraising goal, we don't get any of the money. So thanks for considering to help us out. We really appreciate your support!
