It has been a dream of mine, for quite some time, to write something for the Steampunk genre. The idea took shape after a strange dream I had earlier this year combined with months of hard work and hours of research about Victorian times until my thoughts started to flow into the written form. I am happy with the results and feel very anxious to have them out there as an illustrated book.
Unfortunately, graphic artists need to make a living too and it's hard for me to fund everything, so I need your help. This will be my second book and I would love to have it available by the end of this year or early 2013.
So far, the book has nine chapters and hopefully there will be two illustrations per chapter, one to introduce the chapter and another in the middle of each one.
The ones shown are part of the whole eighteen illustrations that the book will have. There is a very talented young lady doing these for me already and I am very pleased with the results.
I wouldn't like to say what the story is about, but from the title, I guess you'll have an idea. The title of the book is: The Amazing Story of Philomena Sparks And the Curse of The Big Ben. It is a mystery story set in London, from 1854 to 1856.
Risks and challenges
The risk is not being able to complete the book by the end of the year, because my illustrator is still a student and I work full time too, but we both have put our minds together to have this project completed by January 2013 the latest.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
