Batch 1 is standing at attention

Dear backers,

The past February was so fulfilled that we almost forgot to update something. Shame on us. The road from idea to mass production has never been easy, but we enjoyed very much traveling this bumpy yet exciting journey along with your support. Thank you for supporting us for so long! By today we've already rolled over 60 OverLords off the production line and are waiting for delivery. So excited!

However, there happened one little incident: our packaging solution was denied by some import/export sections due to material use reasons. If we insist to kickstart delivery with the current packaging, risks are any OverLord may be detained at the customs, and causing delay of shipment of the whole batch. So we are now working extra hours to revise our packaging to conform to the requirements. Now the new design is being made and tested, hopefully this wouldn't cause too much delay and we are still able to ship late March.

Awaiting orders, captain!

Thanks again for all of your attention, and we'll keep you informed.

Hi, It's been a while, and March is almost ending... So any update? What about the extra features, any time plans for the laser cutter/engraving add on?

    2. Jacob Briggs on

Looking forward to seeing the overlord shipping! Thanks for the update!

How about those of us who live in Shanghai? Would it be available for pick up?

Great job keeping us updated! This is, by far, the most professional project I have backed.

    4. Lucas Cavalcanti on

When we are going to pay the shipping? Thanks

Im also wondering regarding the colors, as i ordered Not blue version..

Having viewed many completed projects here and other crowd funding sites, I would say that delays due to packaging are putting this project way ahead of most. Judging by timeframe, there are scads and scads of items out there that were not even manufactured by this time. This will be my first, or third 3d printer, but I'm betting it comes in months ahead of the other two. Keep up the good work, answer back and update when you can.
For the backers: don't sweat, it will come.

Well worth the wait guys. :-)

Man, screw those customs guys. Bunch of troublemakers. Glad you caught it, though!

This isn't the end of the world, glad it was caught before everything got stuck at customs!

Besides, I assume building of batch 2 etc will begin anyway. Instead of shipping the first batch now, batch 1 + 2 (+3 etc) will all head out the door roughly at the same time. At least the Overlord itself can be put together - and they'll take a long time to build/test compared to packing them into a box! :)

      Thanks for the update!

All first batch is 'default' blue? Batches are separated by color?

      Now you got me curious.
What kind of issues was there with the packaging?

It wouldn't have anything to do with the backup battery, would it?
