See how we will pack your Overlord for shipping

Posted by DreamMaker (Creator)

Now, as our campaign is finished we still want to share the news with you.

Below you will see some of the today's photos of how we will pack your Overlord. The Overlord will be protected by several EPE foam blocks which covers the bottom, the top the middle section and serves as a rest for the print head as well the included spool of filament, the power supply unit and the tool box.

As you can see, there is no space for an extra spool. We cannot put one spool in the spool compartment of the printer because it would cause too much stress for the spool holder during the transport and we won't risk that.

All together is then hidden in a hard cardboard box to ensure maximum protection.

There is no second spool, the "extra" they mentioned was badly formulated as the @creator has already mentioned several times before.
What they meant was if the stretch goal was met, you get one (1) spool of filiment as a bonus with the printer. If the stretch goal was not met, you would only have gotten the printer.

Will you ship second spool with engraver later? Or never?

packaging looks excellent guys - and you are handling this Kickstarter better than most I've seen - constant updates and professionalism - glad to be on board

What if, instead of taking the trouble to ship an extra spool with the printer (which most people won't need right away), you give us credit to buy our own in your online store? Then we could pick our own colors as well.

@Jonas Hansson so then in this case "extra" means "not extra" or "extra to a quantity of zero"

@Jeremy Sharp The @Creator already mentioned that the stretch goal was formulated badly.
What they meant was: If the goal was reached (which it was) you'd get one (1) spool of filament with the 3D printer, if it was not reached you would only have received the 3D printer with no filament included.
They have already apologized for this mistake in the formulation.

The extra spool was a stretch goal that was reached. Since it doesn't fit in the box, will you be shipping it to us separately, or will you be creating a larger box to ship it all together?

      @Ben Harris
Yes, I explained that in the comment section a few days ago.

The packing is very important. People are often unaware how big damage carriers are able to make.

    11. Ben Harris on

So, are you saying there won't be a 2nd spool of filament despite it being a stretch goal?

    12. DreamMaker Creator on

Exactly, there is no safe place without risking damaging something during the transport.

      Looks good!

The only place there might have been room for an extra spool would have been between the top and the printhead, and that's not a place I would risk placing something that heavy.
