What is Forest of Imagination?
Forest of Imagination 2015 - a participatory pop-up contemporary arts event featuring world-class architects, designers and artists.

When & where is it?
Friday 15 – Monday 18 May 2015 in Queen Square, Bath, UK
Why is this happening?
The Forest of Imagination is taking over Queen Square in Bath this May to present a playful programme of installations, artworks and events. International landscape architects Grant Associates are working with award-winning Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, Herman Miller, Carpenter Oak, The House of Fairy Tales, and a host of local and international artists to design an immersive experience for visitors – including a miniature forest, an interactive musical bamboo installation and a giant ‘Magic Rabbit’!
The ‘Forest’ is a place where everyone can explore their own creativity. We will run a creative learning programme of workshops in the House of Imagination with artists for people of all ages, with particular emphasis on engaging children and young people with the arts.
This year we also are partnering with the Save Childhood Movement to deliver a range of workshops and talks during the event for National Children’s Day on 17 May.
On Monday 18 May we are inviting local schools to take part in a series of workshops to support creativity within their curriculum.
Who is it for?
The event is free, inclusive and intended for people of all ages – we aim to engage as many people as possible with creativity in all forms. We partner with artists, teachers, parents, researchers, schools, thought-leaders and change-makers as well multi-disciplined businesses, individuals and local authorities.

Creative ecosystem
Part landscape, part city, part gallery, the Forest of Imagination provides a creative ecosystem for art and participation to protect childhood, inspire intuitive play, unleash imagination, encourage exploration and heighten engagement within our environment, both natural and urban.
The ‘Forest’ reminds the city of the importance of imagination in both the adult and children’s worlds. We aim to create a space where participants, particularly children and young people, can immerse themselves in meaningful creative enquiry alongside professional contemporary artists, designers and architects.

The team
Forest of Imagination is delivered by a collective of creative, cultural and educational organisations in Bath: Grant Associates, 5x5x5=creativity, Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, Herman Miller, Carpenter Oak, RSA, Bath Spa University, Ideas of the Mind and Bath Illuminate.
