Thanks to all our generous supporters, we reached our Kickstarter goal! But we still have a long way to go. Our full budget for the project is close to $10,000; additional support would be greatly appreciated.
We’re a group of architects – 15 students, 2 professors – aiming to build an immersive, full-scale installation. Occupying and perceptually altering the entry area of both California College of the Arts (CCA) and the Wattis Institute of Contemporary Art, the installation will support a March 2012 exhibition at the Wattis: “The Way Beyond Art 3, Architecture in the Expanded Field.” The installation will be experienced by 250 design professionals/ professors and 1000 design students, and by more than a thousand leaders and patrons of contemporary art.
Douglas Burnham (CCA faculty/ Principal envelope a+d, ) and Ila Berman (Director of Architecture, CCA,profile) are teaching our advanced studio, guiding the installation design, and curating the Wattis exhibition.
As students, we are: Anesta, Annette, Bobby, Chanelle, Jason, Rafael, Reina, Richard, Romina, Rose, Kevin, Kristina, Laura, Sean, and Shellar.
We hail from far and near: Singapore, Greece, Indonesia, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, and Canada; the West Coast: the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Hawaii; the East Coast: New Jersey, Philadelphia, and Virginia; and the noble Middle: Wisconsin.
We are grateful for all the support – people, institutions, ideas, and contributions – making this exciting project possible.
