The World's ONLY Motorized, Smart, Connected Carry-on Luggage!
About this project
MODOBAG is changing the way the world travels. Featuring the latest in luggage design and advanced motorized technology. Modobag combines the convenience of a standard suitcase with GPS tracking, Dual USB Charging Ports and the innovation of personal transportability to create the world’s only motorized, smart and connected carry-on that gets you to your destination three times faster than the average walking speed. It has 2000 cubic inches of interior packing space plus pockets for your electronics. Modobag accommodates riders up to 200 lbs. while the Modobag Max is built for riders up to 260 lbs.
Modobag is the invention of Chicago entrepreneur and world traveler Kevin O’Donnell. He got the idea while he was traveling through the airport with the Chi-Town’s Finest Breakers, when the kids started taking turns riding on his suitcase. It was at that point he told them, "We're gonna put motors in these!"
Kevin instinctively had an Aha moment! "Why can’t we ride our luggage and get to where we’re going faster with less stress?" As soon as he reached his destination, Kevin called his college buddy Boyd, and the concept for Modobag was launched.
Boyd Bruner is a competitive motorcyclist with an eye for design and a sense of adventure. He served as a technical director, and won the 2014 AMA Pro Road Racing Daytona 200. The thought of a motorized piece of luggage was a project ideally suited for his curiosity.
Modobag’s vision is to provide travelers, commuters, students, business and everyday people with a functional, fun way to get to their destination. The bag provides up to 85 percent of the stowage space found in today’s typical carry-on luggage PLUS it is motorized, and has special pockets for your electronics.
Modobag’s super lightweight design, dimensions, and ease of movement make it the perfect partner for any commute or urban excursion; while still getting you where you need to be in a safe and efficient manner. It has a 5 mile range (based on a 180lb rider) with a single charge and its high-performance polyurethane wheels ensure a comfortable ride. Modobag easily stows on all forms of transportation, whether on planes, trains, buses or automobiles and it converts from motor to pull-behind use in seconds.
Modobag is the perfect traveling companion. It’s a suitcase to hold your belongings. It’s an electrical port to charge your devices.
It’s a safe and efficient mode of transportation to get from point A to point B. It’s a community of like-minded individuals who want a smarter and more efficient way to get around.
It’s functional. It’s fun. It’s Changing the Way the World Travels.
