The Go Against The Flow movement as taken flight due to the overwhelming interest from women who have come across creator Charu Sharma. Let’s face it only 3.8% of CEO’s are females, 8.1% top Earners, 16.6% occupy Board Seats, 14.3% are Executive Officers, 51.4% fill Management, Professional and Related Occupations and 46.9% are part of the US labor force.
We chose Kickstarter for this project, to create awareness and a definite channel through a strong narrative to inspire millennial women to pursue their dreams through entrepreneurship. The funding will be used to bring this documentary film to high schools and universities across several countries by the end of 2016 with the added support from entities like LinkedIN, The Huffington Post Blog, Semester At Sea, just to name a few.
“The fastest way for any individual, especially for women, to get on the board or to the executive suite of a company is to start a business of their own. If female founders had the same access to capital as male counterparts, the impact to the US economy would be as much as 6-9 percent, which is tremendous!” - Sharon Vosmek, Astia
The film has been completed and is now in the post-production phase. Our project has reached over 75% of the funding goal and with your help, we can go beyond it.
Straight out of college, Charu Sharma spent all of her savings in combination with a grant from LinkedIn to create a documentary film on a few remarkable and revolutionary females who have founded some of the best companies in the last decade.
