My name is Betsy Soukup. I am a bassist and singer-songwriter from the Chicago area, currently living in metro Detroit. As a bassist, I started out as a classical musician. In 2013, I began songwriting in an effort to tap into my creative side. The songs I’ve written over the past five years have been an important part of my life; they’ve helped me express things that I have found to be otherwise inexpressible. Writing and performing these songs has been one of my greatest joys. I am finally ready and very excited to share these songs with the world!

I have chosen some of the best people to help me make this dream a reality: Ben Willis will be playing bass, Cory Tripathy will be playing drums, and Scott Murphy will be working his magic as our sound engineer. You can hear what we’ve been working on by keeping an eye out for our update videos or by attending one of our February shows:
February 10th at 9pm, Outer Limits Lounge (5507 Caniff St, Hamtramck, MI)
February 21st at 10pm, WCBN Local Music Show (www.wcbn.org)
February 27th at 8pm, Spread Art (5141 Rosa Parks Blvd., Detroit, MI)
The funds raised during this campaign will cover studio time, disc manufacturing, album artwork, and fees for my lovely musicians and sound engineer. There will also be an album release show/party if this campaign is successful. I hope you’ll consider supporting this campaign by donating and/or sharing this link. Thank you so much for your support!
Risks and challenges
Because we have already done the recording part of this project, very little can go wrong from here on out. The album still needs to be mixed and mastered, and then the CDs need to be ordered and delivered. There is a possibility that the delivery of the rewards could be delayed, but I will keep all backers updated on this part of the process.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
