This is a very simple 10 day campaign with no frills. There are no Stretch Goals (everything is already printed and to an incredibly high quality) and the game is ready to ship. Just choose your pledge level and support our gaming production for 2018.
Ember is a fast-paced game of creature conjuring. There’s no analysis paralysis here; you use the cards in your hand to conjure a creature based on the creatures you have in play / creatures available on the table / creature to suit your strategy.
It’s a hand manipulation game. It’s so easy to fob off Ember as another luck game, and it might start that way, BUT… the creatures you collect will allow you to mitigate the “luck of the draw” and to further your chances of conjuring more powerful creatures (by drawing more cards or stripping your enemies of their creatures' powers).
It’s not Magic the Gathering - it’s not a game where you hold back cards; it’s fast and furious and it’s got practically every creature from mythology in there - all in glorious technicolour!
Ember has a seriously high recommendation from “significant others” (the non-gamers) and obviously the kids love it for the simplicity and the really bright colours.
You’ll like Ember if: You like fun simple games that allow for a wide range of play styles but which aren't overly complex (but have lots of depth in terms of really cool card combos).
You can configure Ember to your personal tastes (don’t like the “take that” element, then take those cards out - there are tonnes of cards and each game will have a different configuration).
Ember is a light game and it’s designed to be played at face value (so there’s no holding back your hand or passing every round in the hopes that you're going to get the particular card you want - that way lies the road to defeat). A common frustration with some players is that they can play it the way they *think* it should be played - but Ember needs to be seized by the horns and played aggressively - take chances - don't hold back or wait - for someone will steal the card you want right from under you. If you are a player that really likes to take your time and wants to plan ahead then this isn't the game for you - luck is a fickle mistress - and in Ember, you need to make your own (fate), all the while by stripping your opponents of their creatures' powers, making them weaker turn by turn...
Ember: Ultimate Collection is nothing new (for existing players), but I promised to never make it available for retail, so this is your final chance to get the game before it vanishes forever.
In Ember, you are an apprentice wizard competing to conjure the most powerful magical creatures of legend out of mystical true-fire. Each creature has a unique ability which can aid your efforts or hamper your opponents.
Playthrough with Archmage Stewie (guest starring Harley).

The Game is played over multiple rounds, split between two main phases: The Draw Phase and the Conjure Phase.
During the Draw Phase, you use the cards in your hand to conjure new creatures from the Pool of creatures available in the game.
You Conjure creatures based on the Wizard cards in your hand. Like traditional playing cards, each Wizard card has an element and a number value from 1 to 13.
Each turn you may Conjure one available creature from the Pool. Each creature has a unique ability which further allows you to manipulate the game.
In your turn, you decide to conjure the Hummingbird VP 2. It has a conjuring cost of Two Matching Wizards (two cards of the same number). You discard that combination of cards from your hand and take Hummingbird from the Pool and put it in to your play area.
It goes in the Ready position, which is oriented face up. You may use its ability at any time (the Hummingbird's power allows you to take the top card of the Discard Pile). Whenever you use a creature's ability, that creature is Exhausted and needs to recover (by being turned 90 degrees to the right at the start of its owner's turn).
The game continues until one player has reached the designed Victory Point goal for that game. At that point the End Game begins where all players use their remaining powers to manipulate the game one final time before the scores are tallied and the winner is the player with the highest Victory Points!
The Wizards is a set of 55 updated wizard cards complete with clarified art and stunning colours.

Here are just a few of the reviews Ember has gathered over the past year and a half (has it really been that long?)...

The amazing people at Gaming Knights... (although this is the core rules version - which is a different and much slower and younger person-friendly game).
Our favourites: Toucan Play that Game - with Michael May (again playing the old core game rules).

This is how Ember started and this is how it will end. I've put so much money into 2018's products that I need to sell off some stock so District 31 can put its many plans into action.
100% of the money from this campaign is going back into developing our FIVE games scheduled for launching next year (not a joke)!
This is our sixth Kickstarter and we are most certainly getting the hang of this process. There's been a method to all this madness: learn the ropes of Kickstarter so our first BIG project will go without a hitch.
You can already see we offer superlative responses to emails and we’re regularly posting updates on Facebook and on the campaign pages.
We strive to give our customers the very best experience possible and we will do nothing to compromise that trust. We hope you will support our project with confidence! We need your support!
To celebrate Halloween - our favourite time of the year, and to thank you for all your support over the past year, we've given you these nine completely new cards with all new art and all new powers, print and play, for you to enjoy. They are already the correct size and ready for you to play.
These are some of the personal card strategies I've been toying with, if Ember had ever got another expansion...

Risks and challenges
We've done this five times now... All the product is printed and we're ready to go. All we need is your pledges.
You can see from our previous campaigns that we have an incredibly high level of customer service and a very high success rate of getting pledges to our backers.
The only risk is that we cannot guarantee you will receive your order for the Christmas period. We expect to ship on November 20, 2017, and we will try and do everything to get your order to you for December 25, but there is always a small chance of a delay when passing through the postal system.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
