A project to create 28mm scale Kobold Miniatures for RPGs, War Games and Fantasy Games.
Welcome to Rebel Minis 28mm scale Dark Hold Kobold Horde Kickstarter. When we created the Dark Hold Goblin project, it was to try and fill what we saw as a void in RPGs and Tabletop Games, namely Goblin characters, personalities and classes. While working on that Kickstarter, we received countless requests for more unique miniatures. One type of creature kept coming up, the Kobold.

Right now, there are several manufacturers of 28mm Scale Kobolds on the market. But these are larger, more expensive models, and players can only populate their adventures with a handful. We wanted something more, we wanted… A HORDE of Kobolds!
With a Horde of Kobolds, you can properly populate your dungeon. No more swapping out figures and using bits of paper as proxies. You have the miniatures. Enough to strike fear in any adventuring party! With a Horde of Kobolds, you can do it all!

But we need your help! We are running this Kickstarter to raise the money for masters and molds. We already have the sculpts, we just want to get them into production. So Pledge Today!
About the Horde of Kobolds
The Horde of Kobolds is a pack of 18 pewter(unpainted) 28mm scale Kobolds sculpted by master sculptor Bob Olley. Each pack contains a Kobold General, a Shaman, Kobold Spearmen, Kobold Swordsmen, Kobold Slingers and even Kobolds with Axes!
That’s Right Folks! 18 Metal Miniatures for the $20 pledge!
Here is a picture that will give you an idea of what is in the pack. As you can see, this in an impressive HORDE!

The Horde
Each Kobold is between 15-16mm tall and sculpted by master sculptor Bob Olley! That will come with a small attached metal base so you can base them however you like. Here are some unpainted examples.

Here are a couple of size comparisons:

The picture below shows some painted masters based on 1” wooden bases, but you can use slotted bases or even pennies.

Let’s take a look at the pledges:

Stretch Goals
If we reach our funding goal, that will open up the stretch goals
Ok, so let’s talk about stretch goals. The following stretch goals are based on us reaching a particular sales goal. If we reach these goals, the Figure or Adventure for that goal will be added to the Horde or Horde Invasion pledge level (and only to those backers) for Free. That’s right, Free! Here are the Goals.

Let's Talk about those PDF Adventure Stretch Goals!
Each stretch goal adventure are what we consider One Shots. These one shots, usually one or two pages, are adventures that can be played over one session and are designed to give game masters a “skeleton” on which to build a fun adventure for the whole group. Many times, these adventures are used between campaigns or when newer players join. These adventures in PDF will work for the Savage Worlds system as well as the current Dungeons and Dragons system. Let’s take a look at a few of the Adventures.
Jumpers
The Goblin war party is intent upon displacing a band of Kobolds who are establishing a homestead this side of the Dark Hold. They have made their way through the mountains from their home and are now stranded here. Their path back home has been blocked by a pack of vicious blight wolves within the mountain and they have lost all their supplies. The family are desperate and trying to catch game in the valley and have sprung a local clan of Goblin’s trap lines. The Kobolds and Goblins have come to blows and there have been injuries on both sides but no casualties… yet.
Emissary
Karh-Grundek forged their empire on the backs of the races they enslaved, molding and isolating them from each other until called upon to serve. Today, however, the Arcane and physical boundaries are degrading, and the races are coming into contact again. Kobolds from a conjoined but separate Valley have broken the barriers between their home, and the Dark Hold.
Raiders of the Lost Cart
A group of kobolds from the previous adventure, Emissary, have bamboozled the village council and absconded with a bunch of goblin treasures, knick knacks, and various items of cultural and spiritual importance. The council, having realized that some of their own prized possessions have gone missing (Including Fjeurd, the beloved stuffed Dwarf!), are infuriated, and command the village’s greatest heroes to retrieve the cart and bring home the precious items (especially Fjeurd), where they belong.
… More coming soon!

Risks and challenges
Our Risks and Challenges are very low for this project. We are working with professional Sculptors and casters that we have worked with for a long time. Our first Kickstarter shipped ahead of schedule and was very successful. We have been producing miniatures for over 9 years and have a lot of experience in castings and creating. Unforeseen problems may occur, but we believe we have the skill, customer communication and experience to handle them.
