1 seedy motel room, 2 plays, 9 actors, loads of compromising situations. Suburban Motel by George F Walker in Philadelphia in June.

Suburban Motel: It's just one room in one dreary suburban motel somewhere in the flat heartland of North America. This one room has seen it all, out-work-manager turned terrorist; inept gangsters, petty thieves and laughable hoods; secret trysts and drunken cops; ex-KGB thugs, aspiring starlets and would-be pornographers.

By George F. Walker:  Suburban Motel: 2 different plays both set in the same grungy motel room, 9 different actors, all in the month of June at Walking Fish Theatre in Philadelphia, PA.

B. Someday Productions brings the entire cycle of Suburban Motel to its theatre home, Walking Fish Theatre, two plays at a time. Running June 8-30, 2012 with the two plays Featuring Loretta and End of Civilization, performed in repertory. There will be 24 performances in all, directed by B. Someday Co-Artistic Director, Stan Heleva, and starring Co-Artistic Director, Michelle Pauls, along with six additional actors.

Tickets prices will be $20.00, with a special price for two shows together. Every Wednesday is “Pay What You Like”

     $25 = 2 hours of rehearsal space

$50 = Board Operator for a single performance

$100 = Complete script copies for all actors and crew

$250 = Stage Manager fee for one play of the run

$500 = PR costs for entire run

$1,000 = Underwrites theatre rental for rehearsal and  performances

Featuring Loretta: Lorrie is young, beautiful and possessor of the elusive "it" that makes her irresistible to men.  Her husband was recently eaten by a bear, and he wasn't the father anyway. The father ought to have been eaten by a bear, and so should her in-laws, who are trying to run her life. The way she sees it, she has a couple months to decide what to do with herself, and meanwhile she needs money, fast! Enter Michael, aspiring pornographer who is sure he just met the next big thing, and Dave, whose only aspiration is to be near Lorrie and will do anything to stay there. And don't forget Sophie, whose ex-KGB thug father owns the hotel and who has just become Lorrie's new life coach!

The End of Civilization: Lily and Henry came to this nondescript room from somewhere even more nondescript where Henry lost his job and they are about to lose their home. They left the kids and house behind and moved into this room while Henry looks for work and Lily supports him. Trouble is, everybody's out of work, nobody's hiring, and nobody for sure is hiring Henry. More trouble: those firms that didn't hire Henry are getting bomb threats! Even more trouble: some other guys who applied to those same firms are waking up dead! Speaking of trouble, here come detective Max and his partner Donny, who's a little, um, tipsy. Here's a little problem: Donny and Lily have a, well, history. Did someone say trouble? Seems Lily's got a new friend, Sandy, who's a sort of a teenage hippie, uh, hooker, and Lily's decided paid party girl sure beats begging for a job. But then Max comes to take Henry in, and the trouble really starts.
