Production Update: The Course of Kickstarters Never Runs Smooth
This is just a small update today, to let you know about a minor setback in the printing process. After unpacking and inspecting all those Children of the Sun books we were so excited about last time, we discovered that several of them were exhibiting damage - far more of them than should have been for our small print run. And this was not minor damage, either - this was damage that was way not acceptable.
Obviously, we could not be sending these out to all of our fathiful backers, who did not sign up to get copies of books that look like they've been pre-battered from some previous owners. So off we went, back to the printer!
The folks at Bulldog were suitably appalled, and referred us to their partner binder, who inspected the books and determined that there must have been a fault in their assembly setup that allowed completed books to fall off the end of the strip instead of being carefully collected the way they were supposed to. Everyone was very apologetic (as are we).
The good news is that the binder and printer will be replacing the print run, free of charge. We will be seeing new, pristine copies of these books to send out to all of you, the better to thank you for your support. The bad news is that the time needed to redo a print run will set us back a little, but we'd much prefer that to sending any of you a substandard product.
Thank you all for your patience, and we'll let you know as soon as we have books back in our hands!
