Important Software and App Update (Release Date: 2019-1-3)

Dear Backers,

We hope you had a great holiday and a fresh start in 2019. During the holiday, our team has continued working hard to keep up with our timeline for new updates. We’re very excited to share the latest upgrade with you all, especially the improvement on wireless range.

The latest software and App versions: 

HomeBase: v1.0.6.7 

Camera: v1.7.1 

Android App: 1.1.1 

iOS App: 1.1.1

Release Notes for the system: 

1. Optimized the camera wireless driver to increase the range by 50%. 

2. Reduced the latency of live-streaming and recording. 

3. Optimized the default Motion Detection sensitivity to detect events earlier. 

4. Fixed the bug that in Optimal Surveillance Mode, where the recording would be shorter than what was expected.

Release Notes for the App: 

1. Added microphone on/off function. 

2. Added reminder when the environment temperature is lower than -20°C, which is the limit of battery operating temperature. 

3. Added reminder when the environment temperature is lower than 0°C or higher than 45°C, which is the range of battery charging temperature. 

4. Added NAS (RTSP Stream) function. Live stream and triggered videos can be saved to compatible NAS. 

5. Displays HomeBase alarm status and allow user to switch off remotely. 

6. Enabled Entry Sensor notification in Home Mode by default. 

7. Fixed some language issues.

User may go to Google Play or App Store to update the Eufy Security App. The system firmware has been deployed in batches and your system will apply this update automatically when idle, before January 6th.

      Is there a timeframe when these will be available to buy? I'd love to get another one. I've used quite a few cameras and have found the EverCam to be the most reliable.

      Neither my Homebase nor cameras appear to be updating. Is there a way to fix that?

      After updated the eufy security app on iPhone, I’m seeing a problem with video downloading feature. A downloaded video looks overexposed in iPhone’s photos app. And, it didn’t play correctly.
      I’m guessing it’s the eufy security app issue. The captured video itself plays fine on the eufy security app.

      I'm providing app feedback mostly via the FB page, but the connectivity is working well and I'm getting fast response times. Some app features seem in place, but not yet working. Trying to play a video more than once seems challenging. And custom naming of a camera or device location is not yet in place. But it seems to be working... and I need 3 or 4 more cameras. :)

      New and improved wifi signal is dramatically better. It was my only real concern. Looking forward to ordering more camera's when they are available.

      Love it! All of these updates have been great. I’d really like to buy more, so the sooner these can make it to retail, the better.

      Thanks guys. My 2 cameras have been working well, with a couple of exceptions:
      1 - one of the cameras' image went really blurry. I thought the lens had gone for some reason, but a reboot seems to have fixed it.
      2 - the motion sensing seems to detect someone coming back, but not going away. Hopefully this is fixed by the above patch.
      3 - please, please can you add a slider with camera speaker volume to the app? When I talk through the app the volume is really loud and distorted, which I believe could be solved by a volume slider.

      Thank you for the ongoing improvements and support! I love that the cameras are wireless and so easy to install.

      I've been pleased with the motion detection and the face recognition features. I wish that the faces that are recognized by the camera could be added directly to the familiar faces settings.

      Looking forward to Google Home and Alexa integration capability! Keep up the good work!
