Hey Backers,

.

As you can see, it’s 140º wide-angle lens spans the entire 2-car driveway—with no spots missed—making it ideal for catching people walking past or going towards your home. And, because EverCam has 1080p full HD picture quality, you can clearly see our test engineer’s face from 13ft (4m) away and read the car’s license plate with ease when it’s 26ft (8m) away; even the shadows of the leaves on the car and the texture of the driveway are recorded in sharp detail.

As of current testing, the picture quality is good enough for daily home surveillance, but we’re still working on adjusting the color balance and footage details to make the quality better than good. As always, we’ll keep you updated when we have made further progress.

In addition, we’re also testing the A.I. engine and the video below demos the face capture and recognition abilities of EverCam.

.

We pre-recorded our colleagues’ faces into this A.I. engine so EverCam will recognize them when their faces appear. As you can see in the video, the engine currently may not capture side profiles very accurately. Also, when someone is looking directly at EverCam but is far away, the A.I. engine will capture the face but may fail to recognize him/her. But don’t worry, we’re still improving its accuracy and will definitely show you the updated version later.

      @Steve H

      Q: So will you identify Cars by license plate?

      A: That's definitely a direction we'll explore in the future. For now, the system doesn't support license plate identification.

      Ooh yeah, if it could log licence plates that'd be awesome.

      It could crop a photo of the plate and put the camera's best guess of the plate at the bottom of the crop and the time/date that it came and went.
      It'd be handy for logging the comings and goings.
