REACHED! if we reach $2,500, everyone pledging $25 or more, in addition to all of the goodies already on your list, will receive four (4) coasters from Bean Barn, the mall coffee shop where Noel works.
REACHED! We're working with our friends at World of Dice to bring you some geeky goodness! If we reach $3,000, everyone who gives at the $25 or higher level will receive a nifty polyhedral die magnet for your fridge or any other metal surface.
In addition to being a great way to add some geek flair your fridge, these magnets can still be used for gaming if you need some "Dice of Damage". Pick the die and color that you want, or if you are not particular, we can send you one at random.
REACHED! If we hit $3,500, we will upgrade everyone who requested the trade paperback (presented in charming black and white!) to a trade paperback with spot color, exactly like the hardcover (except for the literal hard cover!)!
For those of you already getting the hardcover, we will upgrade it from a laminated cover to a full cloth cover with foil stamp, and include a nifty full-color book jacket as well! It should be a very sweet package!
REACHED! At $4,000, Stan and I will create a new original, full-page, full-color strip to be included only in this book. We also will make the original to this strip available to anyone pledging at the $300 or higher level, even though the two $300 pieces are already gone. If you want this piece, simply pledge $300, and we will contact you in regard to the strip. As an added bonus, we will add another full-page strip for every $500 we make after $4,000.
REACHED! At $4,500, we will produce a nifty 12-card trading card set of all of the major SubCulture characters (Jason, Arthur, Noel, Travis, Skip, Babs, Bart, Larry, Sunshine, Miyoko, Kim, and Clint). On the front is a full-color image of the character with a few other things, and on the back will be a bunch of fun facts about each character. Everyone giving $25 or more will receive this set in addition to everything else!
Further Stretch Goals?
If we get enough pledges where this becomes a serious possibility, we can guarantee you that we will come up with something cool! Stay tuned, and thanks for helping us out!
The SubCulture Omnibus includes everything that was ever printed related to the comic book series and webcomic that lasted from 2007-2012. Inside this 336-page tome are the following:
1. The entire four-issue comic book mini-series that started it all, published by Ape Entertainment in 2007. It includes the covers and alternate covers as well.
2. All 501 webstrips, including guest strips from Jim Mahfood, Danielle Corsetto, Matt Kindt, Mike Norton, Katie Cook, and a number of other comics professionals. See the webcomic at http://www.subculturecomic.com.
This is everything under one cover--perfect for the inner geek in everyone. It has inside jokes that every fanboy and fangirl will enjoy, particularly if you can laugh a little bit at yourself. And hopefully we are all secure enough in our hobbies where we can. As we like to say here at SubCulture, "Admit it. You're one of them!"
This book is intended for mature readers.13+ is probably safe. Has some language and the occasional sexual innuendo.

Stan Yan grew up in Denver, Colorado and went to school at the University of Colorado in Boulder where he got his bachelor’s degree in accounting. Due to the lack of sex-for-recruiting for accounting students, Yan’s life took the tragic turn into sales for the securities industry, where he has wallowed in ethical poverty on-and-off for thirteen years. Yan takes his frustrations out by penning graphic novels such as The Wang. Since 2005, Yan has given up on financial security and become a full-time freelance cartoonist, illustrating SubCulture for Ape Entertaiment, creating comic strips for the financial and sales industry, and picking up odd illustration and teaching jobs when folks are feeling agonizing pity for him. Do your conscience a favor and hire him. You can find him at http://www.squidworks.com/Stan
Kevin Freeman is a military brat and has been in and out of the comics industry for nearly 20 years as a fan, retailer, editor and writer. he has decided to use his powers for good, despite being a self-proclaimed “Evil Genius for a Better Tomorrow.” He’s written numerous pieces for Wizards of the Coast, is the President for the respected small-press publisher Action Lab Comics, and the Editor for the now-defunct ComicsNow! Magazine. When he’s not involved in funnybooks, Kevin is an assistant professor in political science at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. He has degrees from Vanderbilt, Baylor, and Alabama and speaks a number of languages poorly. He’s also an avid traveler and a rabid soccer fan. He currently lives in North Carolina with his wife and young son. He ultimately would like to rule the world.
Risks and challenges
For all practical purposes, the book is complete. We are just formatting it to fit the standard 7x10" comic book TPB size, and are illustrating a new back cover for the project. All the art is finished, all of the goodies and tier incentives are ordered or already on hand, and we have quotes from the printer that has allowed us to estimate our needs. We fully expect to have everything printed by early May, with shipping to take place on or around June 1. We hope to premiere the project at Denver Comic Con, May 31-June 2, 2013. Having everything already ready to go reduces the risk to you as the giver.
The funding that we ask for goes primarily, as a result, to print the book and help with shipping costs (with delivery confirmation) so we can get it to our supporters as timely as possible. It hopefully will cover the Amazon fees as well. It we go over the goal, we have a few special other ideas to throw into the mix as well. Any extra income will allow us to print more copies of the book to sell at conventions and on our website.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
