The 2nd Annual Black On Black Crime Solutions Panel was even bigger & better than last year's. The Courage To Believe International is focused on finding the solutions to this pressing issue of Black On Black Violence by promoting Black On Black Love & Support. We had live performances, raffle drawings, and most importantly an awesome dialogue between the community and city officials. It takes a village for a movement to be successful. The energy in the auditorium was very HIGH and POSITIVE!! Your support will allow us to produce this same event in different cities with a high rate of black on black violence.
What's Next Since May 16th Has Past:
We'll be hosting a Black On Black Crime Symposium in Miami-Dade County in August. We will be also working towards implementating our lifeskills workshop in local Highschools that has welcomed, The Courage To Believe International's mentoring programs. Our whole idea is to guide the direction of at-risk youths into a positive one.
Some of the footage from the May 16th event will be used to complete our documentary that was created to inspire at-risk youth, The Courage To Believe: Never Give Up!
“Let them once understand that you are unselfishly interested in them, and you can lead them to any extent,” Booker T. Washington. Our youth must know that we support and believe in them, but many at-risk youth can’t while in juvenile detention or in prison, especially young black males; they represent 51% of the prison population. We aim to develop success mechanisms that will allow the youth to be able to avoid the criminal justice system by changing their mindsets.
This event serves two purposes: First and foremost, to show our teens and young adults how to make successful life decisions in order to avoid joining the school to prison pipeline, which is a growing epidemic in this country. Secondly, to build a bridge between the older and younger generation because of the disconnect causes communication issues. There is power and strength in the unity of our homes, places of business, and schools. We aim to continue finding the solutions to the problems that we are faced with everyday, and for many of us the problems are right outside of our windows.
Our minimum funding goal is $2,000, but we aspire to exceed that goal because the Black On Black Crime Solutions Panel has proven to be an influential brand critically, and academically around the United States. We hope to present this campaign to the nation. Your support will allow us to push the Black On Black Love agenda in much needed areas around America, such as Baltimore.

This Is More Than Business - Its Personal
It takes a great deal of planning, preparation, and resources to produce an event such as the Annual Black On Black Crime Solutions Panel. For what its worth, I sacrificed a lot to produce 2014's panel; 100% of the costs associated with the event were paid by me. I had only 1 donation and 1 media sponsor - only 1. That was disheartening, but I refused to give up because I have multiple friends and family that has died do to violence within the black community, and a lot more in prison over killing another black male. This year I'm glad to say that there is no more "I" because there is a team, The Courage To Believe International on the frontline of this battle with me - Yeeeeeeaaaaahhhhhh!
"We have many supporters this time around, but still no monetary sponsors. Let's turn this around! Everyday we are fighting to find some real sponsors that will back this project on a national scale."
We Envision In The Future:
Working with national organizations that are geared towards helping at-risk youth excel in academics, and in sports. We would love to take the Black On Black Crime Solutions Panel to several cities around the country, for example: Chicago, Dallas, Harlem, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Tallahassee and Jacksonville. We'll be glad to come to your city, please leave a comment below.
Don't forget to help spread the word and share this project on facebook/twitter with all your friends. And go to www.thecouragetobelieve.com for updates and sponsorship options.
