Cogito Ero Sum - that latin term that means thinking about something proves you exist. To us, it seemed as if Cyclists needed a pump that was light, strong, compact, aerodynamic, user friendly, impenetrable to high air pressures, durable, ergonomic and easy to store. And never worry about getting your finger pinched while you are pumping up!!!
And thanks to the flexible yellow high pressure hose connected directly to the Presta air valve connector, you never have to worry about braking your bicycle tire air valve or getting your hands dirty while mounting and dismounting the Presta air valve connector, since you never touch the tire.

To make the iPUMP Micro, there are a number of very high technology manufacturing machines necessary. The one which impressed me most is called a CNC machine (you can see it in the video). That machine, once programmed properly and the proper bits are mounted, just keeps running continuously for 24 hours a day forever. Truly fascinating!! The owner of the factory is not very happy to stop one of his CNC machines just to manufacture 1000 parts for the iPUMP. But after seeing and sharing our enthusiasm, he agreed to do it.
Then, the carbon fiber pipe factory owner must hate us by now. So many samples were made just to get the exact right one having the right dimensions to provide the right air pumping characteristics. But he also shares our enthusiasm.
Then there is the joint for connecting the polyurethane hose to the Presta air valve connector. That part is as small as the tip of your ball point pen and stronger than an elephant. It can withstand incredible forces. Its made of stainless steel, but because its so small, it hardly weighs anything. Of course I invented it!!! Its fantastic!!!
And the list goes on and on. If you want to invent the world's lightest coolest air pump, you have to be creative. And honestly speaking, you need a little LUCK!!!

Risks and challenges
We are almost there. All the prototypes have been built, samples and assembly processes and factories are all ready for mass production. Testing equipment has been developed. The last step is we need your support for ordering the minimum quantities which manufactures will agree to make. Because the iPUMP looks like the alphabet I.
I started working on the iPUMP 16 years ago and one of my criteria was that it must fit inside the bicycle frame where the saddle fits in. accordingly, the pump had to be cylindrical. And i tell you, it may seem simple, but it is not.
Less than 20mm in diameter and completely cylindrical with a hose, was not easy to invent.
Especially the 4mm polyurethane tube. the joint between the tube and the presta air valve connector was the biggest problem to solve.
The design of the neck shaped piece was actually an engineering solution to a very serious problem.

With this neck shaped design you never have to worry about pinching or cutting your finger.
Also, it is very ergonomic. It allows you to hold the pump comfortably with one hand while pumping with the other hand.
Yes! The Schrader adapter will be shipped with the iPUMP!! I hope you like it as much as i do.
Yes, its possible to use with both Dunlop and Schrader valves.
I made the iPUMP specifically for Dunlop type air valves but with the adopter, which is included with each iPUMP, you can easily inflate the Schrader valve as well.

Quick question could this pump in theory be used to pump up say athletic balls (ie. Football's, basketball) things of that nature
The iPUMP will pump up any ball!! Basket ball, Football, Volleyball, and anything else that has air in it.
I even reinvented the ball inflating needle, so that if the needle breaks while pumping up a ball, it's very easy to pull the broken needle out of the ball.
The cone shaped handle is purely for ergonomic reasons. The handle fits comfortably between the index finger and the thumb when pulling the handle towards the body of the iPUMP during pumping. Having the handle cone shaped provides for maximum GRIPPING power between the index finger and the thumb while pumping. The two round rings are actually two rubber Orings for cushioning the pressures on the fingers, especially when the pressure in the tire is high. Also, with this configuration the total weight of the handle has been substantially reduced while providing most comfort while pumping.
