"Virgin Voting: The Other Half" follows a diverse group of civically engaged, enthusiastic young people who embark on a bus tour across America to rally apathetic high school and college students to vote for the first time on November 6, 2012. Using their stories and experiences as engaged citizens, along with high-energy live-events, they will "positively peer pressure" young people to care about issues that affect them, and to become informed voters. Many of the young people on board the bus will be voting in their first presidential election themselves.
In 1971, the 26th amendment lowered the voting age from 21 to 18. The next election year, 52% of young people voted. Since then, youth voter turnout has never surpassed 50%. Why not? This bus tour and documentary will not only answer that question, but will show how we have the potential to engage "the other half" -- the non-voting youth.
The bus tour will feature live reports and video posts from the road and will culminate in a feature documentary that not only captures the experience but motivates at the same time.
"Virgin Voting" started as a short documentary in 2008 produced by then 16-year-old filmmaker Noah Gray. Noah has reported on the youth vote for CNN multiple times and has been featured on FOX News Channel, CBS, in the Associated Press, and other national news outlets. To continue his mission to motivate young people to participate in the future of our democracy, he launched The Virgin Voting Project, Inc., a 501c3 nonprofit organization that does not support or endorse any political party or candidate.

ABOUT THE FILMMAKER
Noah Gray is a young documentary filmmaker and college student. At the age of 16, he produced "Virgin Voting," where he interviewed nearly all the 2008 presidential candidates from both parties and used it to motivate young people to vote even though he was still too young himself. The film garnered major national media attention, which led to CNN asking him to produce a series of news packages in which he reported on the youth vote. "Virgin Voting: The Other Half" is the 2012 initiative of his non-profit organization, The Virgin Voting Project. Noah was born and raised in Miami, Florida and is currently studying journalism, documentary filmmaking, and political science at American University in Washington DC.
