In April 2016, Maine Youth Rock Orchestra (MYRO) went on a 9-day tour accompanying The Ballroom Thieves, traveling from Maine to Virginia. This was the first time in history a youth orchestra had toured with a professional artist. Will and I embarked on the journey, documenting the experiences these 23 middle and high school students had, both on stage and on the road.
This will be a documentary series highlighting the day-to-day travels, including all of the highs and lows that go into being a touring artist. It will be released 1 episode at a time every month. The first episode will be released at the end of October. So far we have logged over 150 hours of labor to get the project organized, sorted, labeled and prepped to cut these episodes so that the budget created by your donations is used as efficiently as possible. In order to make these episodes a reality, we need your support to give us the ability to finish what we've started.
Thank you for your support and attention. Together let's make the students in the Maine Youth Rock Orchestra feel like the rock stars they have worked so hard to become, and let's show as many people as possible that Music Education can be approached in a whole new and inspiring way!
If we are to reach more than our desired goal the extra budget will go towards creating new video content for MYRO including music videos and promotional material to help spread the reach of this incredible idea.
Check out this music video we produced last year of MYRO performing "Bury Me Smiling" with The Ballroom Thieves for another teaser of what's to come.
Who is Maine Youth Rock Orchestra (MYRO)?
Maine Youth Rock Orchestra is a 501(c)(3) organization that gives orchestral students the educational opportunity to express their individuality and creativity through accompanying national artists, creating a transformational experience. Risks and challenges
We have done all of the filming and have organized the media very thoroughly. Our biggest risk is carving out the time to get the content edited to a completed stage. The budget is for editing, color correction, and graphics. We showcase our qualifications for getting this project done in the videos above. You can also view our website at hermanmantis.com. With this editing budget we can 100% guarantee that these episodes will make it on to the devices of every man, woman, and child!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
