Passionate Piano of Andrea Adamcova
Hello! My name is Andrea Adamcova and all my life I have been passionate about music. I’m releasing my first solo album of 20th century piano music and need your assistance. Funds for this project will cover basic CD printing costs and partial marketing. Money raised above the limit will go toward mixing and mastering costs.
All the works on this CD are very close to my heart… First, as a Czech myself, it’s Janacek’s Piano Sonata 1.X. 1905. It’s a very powerful work, which was composed as a tribute to a worker who was killed on that date by Austrian troops during a demonstration in support of opening the Czech University. Janacek who was very impulsive himself later destroyed the whole sonata by throwing in into the river Vltava. It survived thanks to the first performer of the sonata who made a copy of it for herself. Not having enough time, she copied only the first two movements of the work. The last movement is lost forever but we are still lucky to have at least the torso of this very emotional and powerful work.
The CD also includes three Piano Sonatas by another Czech composer, Lubos Fiser. He wrote many chamber works and was known in Europe mainly for his music for movies. You can try to play an imaginary movie for his music in your mind. It works very well. What kind of movie? I’ll leave it up to your imagination… :) It’s full of sudden attacks, emotional changes, and technical effects. CD includes two world premieres recorded performances of Fiser's Sonatas No. 5 and No. 6!
Heitor Villa-Lobos’ Bachianas Brasileiras No.4 is a mixture of Bach-like thoughts with passionate Brazilian rhythms and melodies. Haunting rhythms and catchy melodies can also be found in the next composition by Alberto Ginastera, Danzas Argentinas, which is very original and fun to play.
As you can see, the music, which is recorded on this CD, has not been played nor recorded very often and chances are that you’ve never heard about Janacek and Fiser before. So this is a very rare opportunity for you to get familiar with music of both of them and I believe that this is such wonderful music that it deserves to be promoted and played more often. It's for sure fun to play and I hope also fun to listen to :)
We have some great prizes for our backers, so you can get this CD full of powerful Czech music alongside with some gorgeous picture of Prague's architecture (many details of St. Nicolas church and St. Wenceslas church in Prague) or Czech landscape (mainly Beskydy mountains) to go with it.
Or you can have your own CD edited here or even recorded. You won't be disappointed with the sound of your recording. I guarantee it!!! The equipment here is state of the art and combines both vintage and modern recording processes.
If this pledge drive is successful, the hard copy CDs will arrive to your door mid-December, so it will make for a very original gift for this holiday season.
I’m very thankful for all your support!
I wish you all the best. Andrea
