Has anyone heard from Kevin lately? I tried sending a tweet asking about ordering a custom sized metal ring, but haven't heard back at all.

    4. Creator Seo Jae Deok on March 5, 2012

Kevin - I haven't got my shipment yet.
Please would you let me know how and where can I check my shipment statement?

Kevin - Where would I be able to get a promo code to order a PenMoto for a colleague of mine?

You can contact me at vishalkuber [at] gmail [dot] com

      Thank you!

    6. Creator cjr8020 on February 11, 2012

Thanks, Kelvin. The extra magnet, as you said, increases the bond strength. And that makes a world of difference to me. When I first tried spinning my wacom pen, it kept flying off, I actually ordered a replacement pen.. just in case. I think penmoto users would benefit tremendously from stronger magnets.

    7. Creator Kelvin Geis on February 11, 2012

Not everyone uses the Teflon dots, some people have found that they like it better without. The extra Teflon dots are replacements, and can also be stacked if a single dot is peeling up.

The extra magnet is simply placed between the ring and coupler. It is your option to add Teflon dots or not. A single large extra magnet acts as a bearing and keeps the secondary magnets from touching so that it is easier to get your pen to spin.

Additionally, your PenMoto can easily be custom sized to your finger with a little superglue. Here is a video demonstration.

I reread update #34, and still unclear:

      1. are the extra disks replacements? Don't I already have one installed on my ring and coupler; and so I would use the replacement if the installed one comes off? Or are you suggesting that I can enhance/improve my current experience (which I'd like to improve) using these PTFE discs?

      2. "Extra Magnet + TEFLON dots + Chapstick® = SPIN"
Could you provide more info on this formula? How do you suggest I use an extra magnet? Do I apply the TEFLON dots over the existing ones (see 1. above)?

    9. Creator Kelvin Geis on February 8, 2012

PTFE discs are to protect the magnet surfaces, as well as reduce friction to flatten the learning curve. You can also use one of the extra magnets to spin with greater ease.
Update #34 has more description regarding this. It was a little hidden with a lot of other stuff, but here is a link.

    10. Creator Florian Chalupka on February 8, 2012

what are the teflon discs for? what's the purpose?

    11. Creator deborah on February 3, 2012

I sent a message through the system and did not receive a reply. I received a shipping confirmation on January 18th that the penmoto was shipped, but I never received the penmoto. Will I be getting mine soon? I'm in the US

@ brent, could you send me a photo of your ring to my email address, Please?

    14. Creator Brent Zhou on January 31, 2012

My medium sized ring's plastic has started to weaken it does not grip my index finger as well anymore.

    15. Creator Kelvin Geis on January 31, 2012

You should have a notification, let me check on yours.

    16. Creator Leighb on January 31, 2012

Should we have received a shipping notification yet (for international shipping) or are they still being sent out?

    17. Creator Kelvin Geis on January 31, 2012

      Thanks Mikito,
Japan is especially tricky to ship.
      Very glad you got it.

    18. Creator Mikito Kawasaki on January 31, 2012

Got mine in the mail last night. Haven't gotten to open the package and play with it yet. I just wanted to let you know your shipping method worked for shipments to Japan :-)

    19. Creator Andy Lundell on January 30, 2012

I have to disagree with David Metcalfe.

The black plastic bands ARE different than the CNC-milled prototypes in the video. I believe they're injection-molded plastic, (They have a somewhat visible join running the circumference.)

However, they feel perfectly solid and I'm happy with the build quality. I've been wearing the ring more or less since I opened the package, and I've taken the couplers on and off a large number of pens. I know It's only been a few days, but so far no issues at all.

These rings are made of the same molded plastic that virtually everything in stores is made of nowadays. Just like they said they would be.

    20. Creator David Metcalfe on January 30, 2012

Just got my set in the mail today. Had I known that everything under $150 would be cheap plastic, I'd have thought twice on buying. The only good thing to come from the $70 purchase was the Wacom stylus, and even then that's small comfort for the other $40.

The black composite material in the video is not what you receive here. These rings are extremely thin, and feel very flimsy. The adhesive and 3M magnet pads are not done well either, with blemishes, residue, or the pads lifting up. This feels like a prototype set rather than something of quality that I'd buy in a store.

      Very misleading advertising.

    21. Creator Bel Every on January 30, 2012

@Kevin emailed. I think it may have been my swing technique actually. It flew a few times.... :S

    22. Creator Kelvin Geis on January 30, 2012

@Bel Every, could you take a photo and email it to me at
I'd like to see what has happened exactly.

    23. Creator Bel Every on January 30, 2012

What type of glue would be best to get the magnets back in place?

    24. Creator Bel Every on January 30, 2012

Received my penmoto today!! Very quick postage, only 8 days to Australia. :)
Still trying to play with them, but having fun =D

I'm really happy with my PenMoto. I especially enjoy using it with a mechanical pencil so I can switch almost instantly between writing and typing.

I know it only saves me a couple of seconds here and there, but it FEELS like it's made a huge difference. If it prevents me from losing my train of thought, even once per day, then it's more than paid for itself.

I'm very happy with the PenMoto. Good value for the money.

No if you'll excuse me, I've got to go put couplers on all my pens.

    26. Creator Chris on January 29, 2012

Using my Penmoto now. It's amazing!
It took an evening but now I'm twirling the pen around quite easily, and I'm looking forward to getting even better with it.
Typing with pen in hand is now a breeze. This was everything I had hoped for, and more.
Thanks so much, PenMoto team! I love my Penmoto :)

    27. Creator Lisa Yimm on January 26, 2012

Just got mine today! I'm still working on the most comfortable/workable placement. I have small hands and my Wacom stylus is almost larger than the length of my hand so placing the connector on the stylus so that it's offset doesn't quite work. But I'm sure I'll get the hang of it!

    28. Creator Brent Zhou on January 26, 2012

I look forward to seeing more tutorials on how to spin the pen on the website, my pens keep flying off especially my jot pro.

    29. Creator Jacob Burton Denmark on January 25, 2012

Got my penmoto yesterday and I've been enjoying it quite a lot. It will take some getting used to, but I do enjoy having complete use of my hands to type while keeping the wacom stylus close at hand. Nice work, Kelvin, and thanks for your hard work!

    30. Creator Scotty A on January 23, 2012

I'm finding it uncomfortable to draw with this ring on my finger. I don't know if I'll get used to it.
