My name is Eric Grissom and I write comics and sometimes I write comics that Claire Connelly draws. Our latest collaboration, inspired in part by our mutual love of The Legend of Zelda, is called THE MARK and it’s the story of a young woman who becomes cursed after burning wood from a sacred tree in the forest near her village. It’s a dark and moody fairy tale that we’re telling through 82+ pages of sequential art and verse. It’s half poetry, half comics and appropriate for all ages.
The good news about this project is it's already done. The only thing that remains is for a beautiful hardcover edition to be printed up, but in order to do that we need money - specifically $5500 to cover the cost of printing the book for our backers, covering Kickstarter and CC fees, and meeting the minimum quantity required by our printer. Any left over copies of the book we'll have we'll be able to sell at shows, to book and comic stores, and on places like Amazon.
We’re selling the hardcover for 25 bucks which we feel is the ideal format to read this story in, however if digital is more your thing we’re offering that too.
So here we are. Asking for your help in making this book a reality. If you look over our reward tiers I’m sure you’ll find something that works for you. Along with THE MARK you can get copies of PIGS and CHICKENS - two comics Claire and I did together previously.
ANIMALS is more adult oriented, so if you’re getting THE MARK for a kid you might want to keep the ANIMALS books for yourself.
So there you have it. Thanks again for watching and checking out the project. Please consider backing it.
If you back this project with one of our digital comic rewards, you will have the option of having the comics delivered to your ComiXology account.
Risks and challenges
The good news about this project is it's already completed and ready to go. The only thing left is to print it. So barring any unforeseen errors with the printer or our shipping partners, the only thing between the book and you is reaching our goal. Help us do that and everything else is aces.
I've got a delivery date of March 2017 to give us time to get the books printed, though it's possible delivery will happen before this date.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
