Question: Who would be interested in a Bluetooth Stereo Adapter?

Wondering how many people would be interested in a custom Bluetooth adapter that would integrate with the LunaTik and TikTok. This would enable you to use it with any bluetooth stereo headphones. Would this be something you would pay $35-45 for? Similar to the Motorola D670 but more integrated. http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-SYN2837A-Bluetooth-replaces-Streaming/dp/B003KRFGPY

Getting a lot of inquiries about this. Not sure what it would take to develop but thought I would solicit some feedback from all you dedicated lunatiks...

Also, what if it had an option to turn on a pulsing LED safety light for running, etc?

Just thinking out loud about running with this.

It may take a while to develop. Make sure to follow us after the 16th and go to www.MiMoLife.net and fill in your email so we can "notify you" when and if we do this.

Had no idea this was already in the works, just send you an email requesting this product. The running light is also a great addition... I would pick up a couple of those for sure.

Since using the Lunatik and headphone cable to it is not good choice .... it means with the cable of Lunatik, makes function to hard ( "Listen music" is most basic function for iPod ... )
At current BT USB adapter market costs 5 - 20 us$ and if Scot can make in 25-30us$..., I bet it can be successful as well as LunaTik/Tiktok...

I am soooooo interested in this. It is very low profile compared to others thats on the market right now. So, count me in.

LOVE the idea. Especially if you were able to make it Bluetooth 3.0 instead of 2.1+EDR so it could be future proof when 3.0 headphones come out. Light idea, not so much...

This is a great idea. Have been looking for a good device for the Lunatik. The Motorola and Scosche models would do the job, however they are bulky and obvious. Your mock model looks the business. Sign me up. When do you think this will go into production.

      Very interested!!
Price sounds right, though I'm sure you could charge a 5-15% (up to 20%??) premium without a single tear from the buyer. The ROI is in the attention to detail IMO. Signal strength and energy efficiency would be critical to me as a possible buyer. Money is not really a factor when it comes to performance. I imagine that your consumer base is 80% tech. savvy and feels the same way... Breaking into the mainstream/casual market is likely a different story though.

I like the fact that your latest post #29 has mentioned getting even more low profile with blue tooth (this is great). Personally, I wouldn't want a light... even when I'm running. Reflective gear and other products will with a singular purpose would likely do the job better. 'Anything' that adds to bulk detracts from my willingness to buy... I'd like it to be completely discrete.

Very interested! I didn't look this far back in the posts before, but after the mention of the bluetooth adapter in today's post, I thought I'd check it out. If it's this compact or more so, I would have to pick one up for that price.

I'd be interested in a Bluetooth adapter. Any thought into making this have some sort of motor to vibrate when the alarm goes off? or a tiny speaker incase you accidently play something? just thinking out load....

if there was a way to also incorporate a nike plus sensor into it so that you wouldnt have to switch out the white sensor when running that would be pretty sick. so you would have wireless headphones while using nike plus. that would be the ultimate setup

Definitely interested, especially if it would work with the iPhone as well and that would have a remote receiver to work with any headphones. For me, the perfect add-on would be a bluetooth stereo adapter with integrated Nike+ adapter if that is even possible.

I am definitely interested. I really wish they could figure out how to do it so that FM still plays though--it's my understanding that the cable normally connected to the headphones acts as the antenna.

Hey Scott...your attention to detail and design expertise combined with style is quite simply awesome! It outshines gimmicky and somewhat cheap one dimensional engineering planning that tends to concentrate on function and cost to the detriment of aesthetics...I should know...I have an engineering degree! If you can use that skill to design a Bluetooth adapter of similar excellence, it will make itself necessary to me in the same way the LunaTik captured my desire without my intent to own an IPod Nano!

Scott I mentioned this earlier but this is what I am really curious about. You have worked with Nike and you know all about the Nike + Adapter. How would you be able to use the Nike + Adapter and a bluetooth headset if it requires an adapter like the one you suggested with the flashing LED light? The ultimate Adapter is one that is both a Nike + Adapter with the bluetooth built in so that the unit could share the same space (if that is all possible).

Does the running light make sense if it precludes the Nike+ ? The small size would make it very attractive as a headphone option. What if instead of a running light it functioned as a visual indicator for the clock alarm?

    29. Tony on December 16, 2010

I think it would be a great addition. I have already been researching bluetooth transmitters and headphones to use with this as I think having wired headphones defeats the purpose of this "watch". Sign me up for one!

    30. wheaton26 on December 16, 2010

please count me in ... this is a must! the first thing i thought about when i saw your product was wireless headphones. if you can develop something that is functional to your own design, i think most would be on board. plus the nano screen can rotate in any direction, giving you the option of having the adapter on either side of the watch case for comfort. thanks.

Hi, Scott. Is there a way to design the bluetooth dongle to allow the Nike+ dongle to fit as well? I know it will look bulky and long but I'm sure you and your team at MNML can figure something out. ;) I'd definitely buy one of those if it can be made.

I agree with the above comments that blue tooth would be useful and that it should be as small as possible etc.. My first thought was could it be powered by something other than the Nano battery? Maybe a power source built into the band for blue tooth, wifi, the running safety light I heard mentioned some where or other add ons.

    35. Vic Kim on December 16, 2010

Hey Scott, thanks for asking about this...I'm really anticipating a bluetooth adapter. You're asking two questions. From a design point a bluetooth adapter is almost a definite 'yes' depending upon if production cost do not make it prohibitively expensive to make or buy/own.

though running with nano plus bluetooth plus blinky light is cool, I'm a lefty so I won't need it. and considering this is all running off the iPod battery perhaps the first version released to the masses doesn't need the blinkly light thing.

now that you've followed up with this publicly, it is sign enough for me to buy in.

looking forward to the bluetooth adapter and more from your studio. much success to mnml in 2011. here here!!!
