From Kickstarter to Apple Keynote Event
As you may know, Apple held their "Let's Talk iPhone" keynote event in Cupertino on October 7th. We were anxiously awaiting the news, not knowing if and how the 6th gen iPod nano might change. So we were blown away when Phil Schiller, Senior Vice President of World Wide Product Marketing for Apple, stood on stage at the event and singularly referenced an image of our black TikTok in his keynote, clearly endorsing the LunaTik brand. In addition to the news that the 7th gen iPod nano’s physical design would remain unchanged, allowing the new version to work with current TikTok + LunaTik Watch Kits, there were also a few nice software updates announced. Watch the keynote annoucement here.
Those updates include what many of you backers have been asking for... 16 new clock faces, built-in Nike+ (no more dongles and shoe sensors!) and lower price points on both 8gb and 16gb nanos. And these new features can be added to all existing 6th gen nanos with a simple software update in iTunes. So all of you are good to go with your existing nanos. It's pretty cool to think that all the third party watch straps on the market and the new category may have influenced Apple to stick with an iPod form factor for the first time ever. And maybe all of YOU helped start this category with bang! Even though Steve Jobs thought to add the clock face to the nano. Let's admit it, he kinda knew.
If Apple had in fact changed the nano, which they do every year historically, we had a pretty cool plan to help reduce our existing inventory and we named it after Apple's illusive and secretive antics. Behold the LunaTik AnTik. A simple 30 meter water-resistant analog watch designed to fit the LunaTik strap. Thankfully we don't need these but maybe some people would like them... Works in the TikTok as well and looks great. What do you think? Which dial faces do you like? :)

One of a Kind
It was with great sadness that we learned 2 days later that Steve Jobs had finally lost his fight to cancer at the young age of 56. It was a huge loss felt around the world and Steve Jobs will remain an irreplaceable icon that has inspired so many of us to do our best work and live out our passions without regret. All of us owe him for setting the standard and raising the bar in consumer experience and entertainment not to mention influencing and inspiring almost all lateral industries. RIP Steve Jobs.

Looking back over the last 11 months, it is still amazing to think about what was accomplished thru launching TikTok + LunaTik on this platform. Thanks to the initial and ongoing support that our backers have shown, TikTok + LunaTik continue to thrive out in the wild. Your support of this project absolutely contributed to the Kickstarter platform as a whole reaching that monumental 1 million backer mark recently and allowed all of us to be a part of history in the making. And this is just the start. As I tour the keynote circuit speaking about my experience I realize how many creatives and aspiring entrepreneurs still don't know about Kickstarter as a way to get their dreams realized. This remains the most rewarding part of this project.
As we approach our 1 year anniversary mark, we look forward to sharing new and exciting LunaTik product ideas, developments and events with you all. Stay tuned, we have some cool stuff on the horizon. Anyone interested in another holiday Kickstarter project?
