We are "juice. Nashville". A family-owned cold-pressed juicery, born and based in Nashville, Tennessee. Each day we use our hydraulic juice presses to make truly raw, simple, cold-pressed juice blends. We are proud to be the very first business of it's kind in the state. Currently, we are selling our hand-crafted juice via home & office delivery, local pickup locations, and Farmer's Markets.
My husband Wes and I started "juice." a year and a half ago. We met while working for Mars, Inc. We both had good, steady paying jobs but I began feeling restless, like I had more inside of me to give. To add to the stress, I became sick.
I was scared. It was the first time in my life that I faced significant health problems. I was literally in and out of the hospital and my body was in constant pain. The doctors were unable to figure out how to help me. I was fed up with not feeling well and willing to do anything to get better. My brother had recently started juicing and recommended that I check it out. Frustrated, I bought my very first juicer.
Slowly, I started feeling better. Amazed, I became a "girl on fire" - I had to learn everything I could about juicing. That is when I discovered cold-pressed juice and it's amazing benefits. I truly believe, that in conjunction with doctor's care, juicing changed my life.
In June 2011, I gave my two weeks notice and began focusing on how to share juice with Nashville. A week later, we started "juice. Nashville" selling out at our very first Farmer's Market.
Fast forward to today, we are in 3 local Farmer's Markets, 5 pickup locations, and deliver over 500 bottles a day across Nashville, Brentwood, Antioch, Franklin, and Hendersonville. (We even worked with "Gap" at their "Be Bright at Night" tent at Bonnaroo 2012!) Because of the community's support of our business, Wes joined "juice." full-time, leading our awesome team in our commercial kitchen.
what's next in our journey.
This has been a wild ride so far! When we are out in the markets or delivering juice, our customers tell us exactly what they want.... from juice blend ideas to additional pickup spots. But, there has been one resounding request from most juiceNashvillians ... "please open a store!"
So.... (::insert drum roll::) in addition to our delivery and local pickup locations, we will be opening the first "juice. Nashville" storefront! Our store will be located at 1106 Division in "The Gulch" in downtown Nashville.
We are BEYOND excited!
We would love to get the ball rolling so we can open the store in early June. Right now, our space is a clean, white box. There is a lot of work that needs to be done to open the doors within the next few weeks. We are launching this Kickstarter so that we can accelerate the process - and meet our early Summer timeline.
What most people don't know about us - we have not taken any investors, loans, or outside help to fund "juice." Wes and I used our own personal savings to launch the business. Our profits are constantly re-invested back to fund growth. Because of the discipline we have exercised with our finances, we have very little debt on our books.
We share this with you.. because we want you to know we take your gift very seriously. Each dollar that is given through our Kickstarter campaign will be treated with the respect it deserves. We will be sure to keep you in the loop - after all, this is your store too!
how will we use the kickstarter funds?
the initial goal - $15,000
With this money we will purchase ...
- merchandising coolers for the store
- two IPADS to use as cash registers
- front signage
But, we would love to raise even more!
the stretch goals.
1st Stretch Goal - $20,000
- install new cooler units in the juice van to help transport juice from our commercial kitchen to the store
2nd Stretch Goal - $30,000
- purchase a new juice press to expand delivery into surrounding cities
3rd Stretch Goal - Infinity and Beyond :)
- the additional funding will help us accelerate our future growth plans - including expanding our delivery area, moving into our own kitchen space and opening a second location!
So, that is our story. We are so grateful for everything you have done to support our juicy adventure. If you are in town, come by and see us at the Franklin, West End, and 12 South Farmer's Markets. We are looking forward to seeing you all at the Grand Opening for the store!
From our family to yours... our bodies say, "thank you."
