Jaymes White Entertainment is a registered business operating in Ottawa. The business provides an exciting form of live entertainment incorporating magic and psychology otherwise known as mentalism. Jaymes White is the performer and writer of the live shows. His performances capture the imagination and memories of when you, the audience were young, when you believed everything was possible.
Paradox, which took 2 years to write, is an audience oriented stage show like no other. What makes his shows unique is that it involves the participation of the audience members. Mentalism creates the impression of predicting the future, reading minds, and even controlling minds. The show would not be possible without the audience’s participation. The test show which took place at the Arts Court in Ottawa left people on the edge of their seats and they were raving about it for months.
Jaymes needs your support to take Paradox across Canada. Each show costs $8,500 to put on and this does not even include travel expenses. Jaymes plans to do 20 shows outside of Ottawa in 2015 and your support will definitely help him along the road in getting there. By contributing you can be part of the audience yourself. More importantly, you will be part of a movement sweeping the nation with the allure of what the human mind is truly capable of.
The breakdown of costs to perform a show locally are listed below, and travel costs will vary depending on the location where Jaymes performs.
- Rental of theatre with seating for 500 (including insurance) = $2,580
- Promotion of show = $2,500
- Total of wages paid to stage manager, stage hands, and stage technician = $2,320
- Advertising through venue = $400
- Rental of sound equipment = $400
- Rental of rehearsal space for 30 hours = $300
- Delivering a mind blowing experience = Priceless
The test show of Paradox led to Jaymes being presented an offer for a 6 episode series on Rogers TV. The show which is currently on air features the sights and sounds of the picturesque Ottawa landscape. The memories that Jaymes left with random people whom he had never met before was vivid and real. Many people said it was a memory they would never forget.
The opportunity presented to Jaymes to have his very own TV show was something unique but also something he aspired towards since a young age. There are very few performers to ever get this opportunity to jump start their career.

Risks and challenges
Jaymes has to promote his brand of magic and mentalism outside of Ottawa, and this will take time. Until he gets known, it may be difficult at first to sell out his shows. Based on a theatre size of 500 seats, the shows must hit 57 percent capacity to break-even. To deal with this problem approximately 34% or $2,900 of the cost of each show is going towards promotion and advertising.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
