The CardMogrifier is a BPA-free, polyplastic carrier designed to hold a blank card and run it through your laser printer or ink jet printer. Downloadable templates from 4d10.com allow you to insert text and graphics to create a custom card. Tape the blank card into the CardMogrifier, load it into your printer, hit print, and out comes your custom card.
Once you've bought a game you own it!
Why be limited to what "They" put on the cards.
Now you can put what you want there!
If a game comes with additional blank cards now you can put something awesome on every one. And, if it doesn't we're gonna show you just how you can remove the printing so you do have a blank so you can make your own card for your favorite game.
You control design. You control production. Create a clever card. Create a spoof card. Create a personalized card. Even alter an existing card. It's up to you.
How to remove existing printing from a card.
Once you have the blank card, regardless of if it came with the game or you made one you can use your Cardmogrifier to put what you want on it! We'll have some samples we've done up real soon to show you!
What are the Card Sizes Exactly?
Poker 2.5” x 3.5” 63mm x 88mm
Bridge 2.25” x 3.5” 56mm x 88mm
Mini Card 1.75” x 2.5” 44mm x 63mm
Note that the diecut opening is slightly larger by 1/32” or 0.8mm to allow cards to fit in the Cardmogrifier easily and without incident due to possible manufacturer variation.
How reusable is the Cardmogrifier?
As long you treat it with care, avoid printing on CardMogrifier itself (basically keep the printing on the card you tape in) and check to be sure there is no tape build up, sky’s the limit. On the machine we tested, we stopped when we broke 100.
Will it work with both Laser and Inkjet printers?
Yes it will, but we recommend Laser over Inkjet because Laser printers are more durable and are also designed to handle heavier stock than Inkjets.
If this is the first time you've seen the Cardmogrifier on Kickstarter, then you might not know that our first attempt at funding fell short early in January. Our goal was much higher then, and we have lowered it significantly this time round. This is not because any of our costs went down! Nor, is it because we raised any of the dollar amounts of the rewards!
Simply put it is because we believe there is a place in the gaming world for a company that will focus on giving gamers the tools and materials to create, adapt and expand the games they play, and allow them to do it right in their own home on demand! Thus, we are ready to pay initial setup costs to make this project a success!
Special Thanks to everyone who has helped us to reach our goal! Now that we're funded, it's time to grow the campaign. The more backers we have the more we can offer you, not only in this our first campaign but in future campaigns and products, as well.
Just update your pledge with an additional $10 or $14 as appropriate and we'll be sending them to you with your Carmogrifier.

Risks and challenges
After years of adding spice to our games with ugly, handwritten cards, we wanted something nice to look at and that would shuffle like a factory-produced card. We searched around for a material that would hold up to laser printer temperatures and be generally planet friendly. We found this specialized, synthetic paper that is made from high grade polyester hacked out a couple of hand-made prototypes, and went through trial and error of refining the prototypes and the downloadable templates (at 4d10.com).
Then, we lined up professional printing and die-cutting companies and did a limited production test run which made it through our tests without a hitch.
Now, the same printing and die-cutting companies are ready. The templates are ready. The 4d10.com website and the Facebook page are a little sparse, but ready.
