Scentium lets you effortlessly add mood-shaping aromatherapy to your showers.
The magnetically-activated valve closes to fill the reservoir, and opens automatically when the reservoir is placed in the mounting bracket. The specially designed tablet cup controls water flow to ensure complete melting of the Showertab.
Scentium securely attaches to any shower surface with a damage-free, acrylic, double-sided adhesive disk on the back of the mounting bracket.
A hidden, non-marring removal tool, housed in the back of the mounting bracket, can be used to easily remove Scentium, if you have to move.
Scentium Showertabs are based on "Modern Aromatherapy," combining the time-honored traditions of aromatherapy with modern scent science. Working with expert fragrance designers and leading aroma scientists, Scentium Showertabs incorporate patented and patent-pending, man-made fragrances and natural essential oils, to deliver beautiful scents that help shape your mood in the shower.
When you don't have time for a bath, you can bring the bath bomb to the shower with Scentium.
*Once Scentium launches on the market, the Showertabs will be available in a monthly subscription, where you can customize your assortment, 10 Showertabs for $19.95. Showertabs will also be sold in 3 pack and 6 pack counts of a single scent.
With our busy and hectic lives, it’s often difficult to find those much-needed moments of “me time.” Showers are one of those private, special times where you can focus on yourself and jump start your day, de-stress after a challenging day, calm down after being upset or wind down before bedtime. Scentium is here to personalize your “me time.”
The concept of aromatherapy, the use of natural, “aromatic” essential oils that are extracted from plants for their psychological effects and to treat illnesses, is ancient. Aromatic plant compounds were used by the Chinese in the form of incense, by the Egyptians in embalming the dead, and by the Romans in their baths.
The term aromatherapy is relatively new, having been coined by French Chemist Rene-Maurice Gattefosse in the late 1920’s once he began the exploration of essential oils for their healing powers after an explosion in his laboratory left his hand badly burned, and the accidental soaking of his hand in pure lavender oil produced a rapid and miraculous healing.
Over the last 25 years, fragrance neuroscientists have confirmed that scents do affect people’s moods, but it isn’t because scents work like a drug. Rather, they trigger a conditioned emotional response that is linked to our first memories of a particular scent and the nature of the experience when we were exposed to the scent. When someone spoke positively to us about the smell of fresh cut grass or new car smell when we were younger, then later in life, when we experience those smells again, we will like them and they will positively affect our mood. Fragrance affects mood, either positively or negatively through what aroma scientists call “odor-evoked memory.”
Numerous scientific studies have shown, that in general, the odors that people like make them feel good, and the odors people dislike make them feel bad. And the way in which pleasant fragrances influence mood translates into changes in our behavior, making us more productive, less stressed, and more positive in our interactions with others.
We’ve designed Scentium to complement most shower decor themes. And, it comes in both chrome and matte nickel finishes to match with any kind of bathroom!
Alan Beychok, Co-Founder of Waterloft, is a shower and bathing fan. He finds showering a great time to de-stress after a hectic day and an especially good time to plan the day, set priorities and solve problems.
As a marketer, Alan became interested in shower and bathing products, and after trying fragranced shower tablets, realized that there really wasn’t an effective way to use them in the shower; placing them on the shower floor gave really poor results-- they wouldn’t melt, and trying to get the tablet under water from the showerhead was a big distraction. So, he partnered with a former work associate and industrial designer, Co-Founder, Kate Huthmaker, to create Waterloft Scentium.
Waterloft Scentium is an innovative, new-to-the-world product, and after filing for a U.S. Utility Patent using the Fast Track Patent Process, the product was awarded U.S. Patent 10,010,973 in July, 2018. Other utility and design patents are pending.
We turned to Kickstarter because we saw ourselves on the leading edge of a new way for women everywhere to upgrade their “me time.” We believe Scentium will help women find time in their stressful lives to practice self-care and pampering. The funds raised during this campaign will help us place initial orders with our manufacturer. Every dollar counts towards giving you the ability to have your very own personal wellness retreat right in your own shower.
We can’t thank you enough for checking out our project and helping us make Scentium a reality.
We know not everyone will be able to support us with a pledge, so even if you can’t give a dollar or purchase a Scentium, if you’re a supporter of Scentium, you can help us spread the word on Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Instagram and anywhere else you can think of!
