Psyche Corp. is raising funds for our 5th album, "Romance of the Counter-Elite". This is a 5-song EP; the track-listing, in no particular order, is:
(Note: the final version of Monarchy is going to be a bit more complex than the demo on soundcloud)
Since the tracks are already recorded, what are these funds going to pay for, you ask?
1) Mastering the audio tracks*
2) Pressing physical CDs
Anything left over (assuming we have anything left over) will go toward producing additional swag or pressing additional CDs. Everything after that (hypothetically speaking) would go toward the next Psyche Corp. music video, which is a long way off but doesn't hurt to plan for.
*As a brief explanation, audio mastering adjusts my recordings to get them to a louder volume and optimizes the sound frequency distribution on them so they're not too boomy or too tinny. I believe there's a mastered copy of Lady Perilous on soundcloud, but it had too much low end sound frequencies (you might not hear this unless you're using car speakers that can capture it), so I've fixed that and it has to be re-mastered.

Risks and challenges
Honestly, there isn't a lot of risk for being able to complete this project, other than getting the funding to make my DiscMakers order. I've been making Psyche Corp. albums via DiscMakers for years and already have 3 albums out using the same company (Worlds on a String, Pretend, and Crypts & Codes). All have gone off successfully and on schedule.
The studio tracks are already recorded; I'm just waiting for them to get mastered by Aethyric Productions (http://www.aethyricproductions.com/), whom I've worked with for many years and who mastered all of the previous Psyche Corp. albums.
I have the basic photography done for my album art, and really.. everything is just waiting for me to be able to pay DiscMakers and pay Aethyric Productions.
The only real concern I have is whether it might take Aethyric Productions more time than usual to master the 5 songs, as I am rate-limited there. As soon as I get those masters I can set up the DiscMakers order though, and get the physical CDs a few weeks later. My goal is to have all this done in time for my shows in October, and I think that is a reasonable goal, though there's perhaps a 5% chance of accumulated unexpected mastering and shipping delays pushing the arrival of the CDs to, say, November.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
