We sent an email out to all the people that opted in to receiving emails from us in the future. Other than that, we didn't really think to post about pirate coins here.
Got mine today, ironically while I was typing a comment on the Roll20 Kickstarter project about using tokens (such as coins)...
They look great, but as people who know me know, I always have to point out flaws. Sorry, can't help it, that's my nature ;)...: They don't stack as nicely as real coins.
I got my three chests with the coins a few days ago. We used them for the first time last night!
We played the game Navegador and the coins were a HUGE hit. Everyone loved how they have a nice weight to them, how they are shiny and come in copper, silver and gold. How they sound clanging together, the chests to keep them in. Everyone wanted to buy some and were sad that it was a kickstarter they were not a part of. I should have taken a picture, but didn't :( Anyways, GREAT JOB and thanks for making it a reality :)
Received my "King's Bounty" today in Toronto, Canada. The coins look and feel great and I can't wait to get them to the table at our regular Friday night gaming group. Thank you, and well done!
I know a few members of my group will want to order their own when they are available through your store :-)
Being a bit forgetful, I wasn't expecting such a small but heavy package in the mail today. But it was your awesome coins! Thanks for such a great project!
We will be selling the coins in April on our website Musedfable.com (there's nothing there currently though). We will be sending out an email to the people who wanted to be on our mailing list to let you know when it's ready. :D
Realm Coins was the first Kickstarter project I backed (and the only one of 20 I've received anything for, to date LOL) and I have to say, I wish we'd kicked in for more! We got 50 of each coin and we've used them often. Mundus Novus, Puerto Rico, Runebound, and other games have all seen them brought out and used instead of the usual crappy cardboard or paper money. We even played the Realm Coins game once.
These coins have been much admired, including at our FLGS. Any chance that it's possible to buy more?
Thanks!
I backed the coins in bags (not chests) and my order has not yet been shipped. Other people have already received their coins. Have mine been shipped? I was asked for my address back in January and I have just confirmed that I gave the correct address on the survey. I have not received any e-mail that the coins were shipped.
Thanks everyone! We're getting close to having the orders all shipped out.
You'll never see these any cheaper. We're actually a little annoyed with the suppliers (especially the chest supplier). We're working on trying to find locally manufactured sources (as opposed to just locally distributed). If you are a wood worker near Wausau, Wisconsin, contact us if you want to make hundreds of wooden chests. :D
Great job! Coins look great. Pouches are nicer than I expected. Timely updates and delivery.
Others doing Kickstarter projects - take note - this is how it is supposed to be done (as long as I don't see these on Tanga for half of what I paid for them). I am so sick of printing delays in China, exclusives that turn out later to not be exclusive, and sub standard quality components. Make it local, honor your word and have a little pride in your work like Michelle and Matt. Very pleased.
Mine came today & they are really neat; I like the little leather bags making it easy to know what color coin is in which. I know my giftee will enjoy them.
(Happy Birthday, Matt!)
And the coins arrived! Sweet and awesome! Still not overly happy about the "Robin Hood"-hat on the copper-coins, but that aside everything is plain awesome! (well, also, the coins could have had slightly different sizes to differentiate them abit more from eachother... But that's just nitpickin'! )
Received my chests and coins yesterday and they exceeded expectations! The weight, feel, and luster on the coins is outstanding and the wooden chests are very nice. Thank you very much for all your hard work and effort! Joe
We're only a two person operation, so as soon as we get an order packaged we ship it out the same or next day. There is no specific European ship date, as they're all sort of mixed in together. We expect to have all the orders shipped out soon.
Got mine today. They look nice! They remind me of arcade coins. I know it's an odd question, but my three year old loves them... do you happen to know if they are lead free? I know a lot of cheaper metal products can have lead. Thanks...
At this point, we have enough funding so we can buy extra coins to sell after the kickstarter. In fact, we'll have enough extra coins that the profits will let us order even more coins. It's like a perpetual coin machine. :D
We'll have a website up for our publishing company, Mused Fable. First, we're going to fulfill all the kickstarter orders. That means we'll have the website launched in the beginning of March.
I got Dominion for xmas this year, and I think these coins would be a fantastic addition to the game, used in conjunction with the Treasury cards......
We can't offer extra coins or anything that costs too much because there isn't actually that much profit. At 5k we only broke even (we started the project with the minimum goal only rewarding us with the ability to buy our own coin set). We are at 18k now and that's just a bit more than the point where we make enough profit to get enough extra coins made to sell them so we can make enough to keep re-ordering coins (a perpetual coin machine).
The kickstarted rewards include shipping ($5 or $10), bags or chests ($12 or $25 retail, but we offer them at wholesale cost), and there is the physical raw cost of the metal in the coins that makes up roughly 40% of the total price (that's not counting the cost of making the steel dies). On top of that kickstarter and amazon payments take 8-10% off the top. If we make it to 20k or even 25k we might start to see a meaningful profit.
Use this space to cheer the creator along, and talk to your fellow backers.
Have a question?

They're about the same weight as a quarter, yes. The "silver" are a bit heavier, and the "copper" a bit lighter. They all feel like solid metal coins.

Can you put another bonus? Like some extra coins/dice/something else if we reach 20,000? cuz that will make 4 x the pledge!
