How was Plezmo born?
We are parents ourselves and wanted to introduce our children to the wonderful world of computer science. But when we looked around for the tools that were available, we discovered that the tools were outdated and complex.
Kids in their formative age have immense creativity and imagination. They also have the ability to learn very quickly. We also believe that every new generation is smarter than the previous one. The combination of these qualities makes the formative age the best time to introduce them to latest possible technologies because they can create things with it that are beyond our imagination!
We created our first generation of Functional prototypes and tried them out with more than 70 children with different age groups and interests. The feedback from children was very positive. Check out some of the coolest projects created by kids!
Is any prior electronics or coding knowledge required to use Plezmo?
Plezmo is designed to be self explanatory out of the box. The Plezmo Apps walk you through every necessary step with various examples. The Plezmo Apps and Elements also have interactive help feature which allows you to understand how to use and program every element. No prior knowledge of electronics or coding is necessary. We have gone through multiple iterations of prototypes before coming up with our current design. We have tested our prototypes with more than 60 children of all ages, groups and interests and they have helped us develop Plezmo to what it is today!
We now have production ready prototypes which have been manufactured using processes similar to what will be used for mass production.

When will the Plezmo elements be available?
Plezmo Elements will become available starting September 2017.
When will Plezmo app be available? How do I get it?
Plezmo Elements are manufactured to be safe for kids. The materials used are non-toxic and the elements contain no sharp edges.
How many Plezmo elements can I connect at the same time?
When using an iPad you can connect 12 elements, and when using a Samsung Tablet you can connect between 8 to 10 elements.
How will I update firmware on Plezmo elements?
New features will be added to elements through firmware updates. These will be pushed from iPad or Android Tablets using over-the-air updates.
How long does the Plezmo element battery last and how is it recharged?
Once fully charged, the battery will last for 4 hours of continuous usage e.g. running the motor continuously for 4 hours. The battery will be recharged fully in 4-6 hours.
Do I need internet to use Plezmo?
No, the Plezmo App and Elements connect using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). Internet is only required in order to access the Plezmo community or download updates.
What other toy and kits can be programmed through Plezmo App?
The Plezmo App allows you to program Lego® Mindstorm® EV3, Lego® WeDo 2.0, and Sphero® SPRK+. This list will continue to grow with new updates to the App.
What is the use of simulator in Plezmo app?
The simulator is a way to create programs using in-screen avatars of Plezmo Elements. The actions of physical elements can be simulated on the screen to test logic. Once this is done, you can swap on-screen elements with physical elements to get the program working with physical elements.
Can I write a program which uses both simulator and Plezmo elements?
Yes. A program can use both in-screen avatars and physical elements. For example, a button click simulated on-screen can turn on the bulb element.
Can I use Plezmo elements and Lego® Mindstorm® sensors in the same program?
Yes. You can use both Plezmo and Lego® sensor in the same program. For example, a Plezmo motion sensor can trigger actions on a Lego® motor.
What is the range of Plezmo elements?
Plezmo elements will work in a radius of 10-15 meters of the iPad or Tablet.
What devices will Plezmo App work on?
Plezmo App can be installed on iPads with iOS 9 (or later) and tablets with Android 4.4 (or later). Chrome Book support will be added soon.
How many elements can be charged simultaneously on a Charging pad?
You can charge 8 elements simultaneously on one Charging pad.
Can elements be used while they are being charged?
Yes.
