On the sunny beaches of Malibu - an adventurous group of drama-fueled 20 somethings. Think Baywatch, Jackass, Sons of Anarchy.
What is Malibu Clout?
Malibu Clout is an action/comedy TV pilot & web series set in the world-famous oceanside town of Malibu California. We're pointing our cameras at bikini babes and beach boys navigating their “no limits” lifestyles against a backdrop of extreme sports, surf-shop turf wars, crazy stunts, ridiculous pranks, massive parties, steamy hookups and killer music.
We're currently in the early stages of production for the web series -- with the first episodes to begin airing on our YouTube Premium Channel and Craveonline http://www.craveonline.com on June 4th, 2014.
The partnership we already have in place with Craveonline allows us to IMMEDIATELY REACH AN AUDIENCE OF 30+ MILLION UNIQUE VIEWERS from day one – in addition to our YouTube Premium Channel viewers.
At present, we have already secured FULL FUNDING for the Malibu Clout web series.
If the Malibu Clout web series is FULLY FUNDED, why does it need a Kickstarter?
What started out as a few no-budget prank videos has now turned into a full-blown web series with a team of experienced industry professionals attached to the production – and it hasn't stopped there.
This is where it gets exciting...
One of the major broadcast networks recently got wind of our work on Malibu Clout – and THEY reached out to US!
They said our series fit perfectly into their "wheelhouse" and network demographics (18-24 yrs old) – and seeing that we were about to go into production, they asked us to produce a 22-minute pilot for them to consider.
If the network likes the pilot, then Malibu Clout will be picked up as a one-hour prime time series.
This is legendary! Malibu Clout now has the exceedingly real potential to be one of the very few shows to actually make the jump from the Internet to primetime television - and your support through Kickstarter could be the determining factor.
In order to maintain our independence, sustain our creative vision and give us some bargaining power - we agreed to pay the extra costs for the pilot.
We're looking for additional money to increase the production values of the TV pilot to make it equivalent to network standards. We're hoping to add more high tech equipment like helicopters and drones – plus more jet skis, speed boats, underwater film gear, communication systems, more stunts, special FX and props.
This is why we're reaching out to Kickstarter backers! We want you to help us make some history – and we're offering some very cool perks in exchange for your support!
What happens if the network doesn't pick up the series?
Even if the network doesn't pick up the series or we can't agree on terms, we'll still be in a good position.
We'll then be free to take the pilot to other networks and cable outlets.
At the very least, the pilot will be folded into the webseries - increasing our production values with richer locations, bigger stunts, more special effects, aerial shots, underwater scenes, and additional entertaining madness.
But we're confident that the network – and all of you – are gonna love it!

The Malibu Clout Story:
Mal ● i ● bu (mal̒ e‐boo) n. beach life, bikini babes, beach boys, new money, old money, no money, celebrities, trust fund babies, paparazzi, wildfires, wicked waves, flash floods, oceanfront mansions, extreme skating, kite sailing, massive parties, paddleboarding, turf wars, tow surfing, gnarly wipeouts, Baywatch rescues, no comparison.
The stars of Malibu Clout range from a totally outrageous and charismatic pro-athlete burnout to the young and sexy followers who revel in his crazy antics (and each other). What these people have in common is also the show’s anchor location on Zuma beach – Clout Rideshop, a place like Cheers where the locals gather to plan outrageous adventures, square off or hook up. Whether downhill skateboarding at 50 miles per hour, riding motocross in the Malibu hills or to conquer giant waves in a storm, these adrenaline junkies of Malibu Clout bring their A-game wherever they go, and like Jackass, no adventure or stunt is too crazy. Passions on land are as great as those on the waves, and the action really heats up when the sun goes down…
Owned by George Sisino, a carefree and whimsical former pro surfer, Clout is a magnet for craziness but faces serious challenges in a business world. Clinging to a devil-may-care outlook despite being saddled with debt, George is regarded as a marketing genius by some, a menace by others. Hell-bent on creating controversial marketing ideas to promote his business, he pushes the lines of decency and taste to new extremes that make him hated by the Malibu establishment and celebrated by the beautiful twenty-somethings that orbit around him. The shop attracts all types of larger-than-life “crazies” and a roundup of celebrities with its “no limits” attitude, giving Malibu Clout a never-ending flow of exotic characters, storylines and sporting adventures to power the series through many broadcast seasons.
With cameras on land and in the water, Malibu Clout tracks our characters from life at the Clout shop and massive house parties to turf war confrontations and killer action: kite surfing, paddleboarding, jet skiing, cave diving, tow surfing, downhill skate-luge, radical skateboarding, boogie boarding, free-diving, scuba diving, and overnight partying on and near the water.
Adding fun to the mix is the ongoing rivalry between Clout and Diablo, a rival surf shop with locations in Santa Monica, Venice and, here's where the major conflict begins - Diablo plans to open a store in Malibu as a direct competitor and foe to Clout!
The Diablo crew is the antithesis of the Clout team. They represent the "dark side"..."biker" types dressed in their black leather, goth attire and silver jewelry...they're the bad boys and girls-gone-bad of the beach led by the iron fisted, hard-to-get and beautiful, Marlene. Between the two stores, their pranks on land are matched only by the desire of the shop owners to one-up each other in every way possible.
With a bevy of bikini babes, muscle-toned guys and the occasional appearance of a helicopter pilot who hungers for mischief and adventure, anything can and does happen… at Malibu Clout.
Who is behind Malibu Clout?
The series and television pilot are being produced by TV and film producer George Paige.
Music serves a big role in Malibu Clout! It will drive the action and enhance the emotional impact of the storytelling. Original and upcoming artists and their music will be showcased throughout the series. Our rewards provide donors the chance to submit their original music (or friends/relatives) to be included in the series and soundtrack. We'll promote these new artists on our website helping them to build their fan base. Plus their music will be available for purchase on the Malibu Clout website with our extensive music distribution outlets including iTunes, eMusic, AmazonMP3, GooglePlay, Spotify and others.
Malibu Clout's Director:
Our director Matt Prine brings 20 plus years of experience in the film and TV industry to Malibu Clout.
While still in college, he kicked off his career making creatures and acting in a low budget sci-fi movie. He then graduated with a BFA in Film Production and Fine Arts. Matt would go on to work on numerous feature films including a stint at George Lucas’s legendary Industrial Light and Magic. He has been involved in every aspect of production including special FX, pyrotechnics and set design.
Editor, Music Composer and Assistant Director:
Brian Carter has been working as a music composer, producer, foley artist and picture editor in the film, TV and music industries for 17 years.
Brian has worked on feature films which have released worldwide, and on TV shows airing on FOX, HBO, ABC Family, National Lampoons and the Hallmark Channel. Brian came to Los Angeles in 1999 when he was hired to score music for the feature movie "Earthlings" alongside Natalie Merchant, Moby and Pink Floyd. Working in the post-production world since then Brian has composed music for the feature-movie and beach comedy "Hard Breakers," staring Tom Arnold and Chris Kattan, and he has scored music for and produced the TV series "Let's Go the Travel Show" airing on ABC Family. Dedicated to collaborative creative excellence Brian is an invaluable member of the Clout team.
Our music director, Chris Ranier, has an extensive background as a composer and producer with a degree in composition and music theory. Chris, 26, is a singer, songwriter, guitar shredder and piano player performing for years in gigs from dive bars to television. He's a former National Guitar Workshop instructor and currently an instructor at the California Music Academy. Chris is bringing his diverse music experience to Malibu Clout searching out the best original music talent from around the world to be a part of the series.
Risks and challenges
Every production has its obstacles big and small. The key is to not panic, face the problems head on, choose the high road and be the problem solver that comes with the title "producer." Our producer, George Paige, with his extensive production experience is well prepared for any challenge that comes our way.
Everyone on the Malibu Clout team are highly experienced in their respective areas and dedicated to making Malibu Clout a success including our director Matt Prine, and our editor Brian Carter. Plus Brian and Matt are both camera operators. This helps to insure the integrity of the story flow, editing and visual composition of the series.
