Development Update #9
Hey folks, hope you're doing well!
In the last update, I talked a little about how January was a month where I spent most of my time assembling the next bit of content for the game, ie: I was putting together all the backgrounds and sprite and dialog and music I had made so far and coded that all into the game, and most of February was spent doing more of the same thing.
It takes a lot longer than one might think just putting things together, but I prefer to do it incrementally rather than wait till the end to try and put the entire game's worth of content together. That, uh, sounds like a nightmare to me...haha.
However, like last month, I did take breaks from coding and play testing and tweaking and editing to continue to work on the next batch of content. Moving forward, my plan is to post little snippets of each kind of thing I'm working on, or more specifically, I'll post a couple of backgrounds, a couple of sprites or character portraits, and a couple pieces of music I'm working on.
For the music snippet I'm teasing this month, one has the ambiance track mixed in as a clue to the location where it'll be playing, the second one is just the music track.
There's not as much to say regarding my insights while I'm developing the game that I haven't already said, so future updates will probably be less wordy, hope that's okay!
Next month is going to be exclusively devoted to content creation (my favorite part), so lots of things to look at next time around! I Hope you have a good March :)
